my toddler son entered the room, unable to breathe and grasping at his throat. as I am a highly trained American cop, my fear pushes me to deploy a tactical response. my first general order is to gain control of the situation. to immediate effect of the afformentioned duty, I unholstered my weapon, pointed it at him, and yelled at him to get on the ground.

my brain has been certified by the shooting board as "Good, Actually" and I have been cleared to return to my status as training officer.

If the toddler was following the rules they would never have choked on anything. Clearly they were no angel.

That's the kind of world they want to live in, but they don't want the citizens to have the guns.

Its like the bit in Disco Elysium if you fail the Authority check and you start crying and screaming at nothing. Except its real life and these guys constantly kill people because of it.

I just downloaded the game but haven't been able to play it yet.

Everything I hear about it, including this, is great. Haha

The Ukraine flags are kind of convenient at this point. Whenever I see one in a person's profile I know I'm about to hear something monstrous and lacking in empathy, so it doesn't come as so much of a surprise.

Nazi losers getting themselves killed in unwinnable offensives is heroism, dying as a protest against genocide is a result of mental illness

"I havent seen it either but (horrificly cruel nonsense)"

Every day liberals enlighten me more on why the Soviet Union used the term "Citizen" rather than "Comrade" as an insult.

I did see the video and the pig in question keeps pointing his gun at Bushnell after he has collapsed on the ground and others are putting him out with fire extinguishers.

So they agree, a cops instinct is to shoot first and not help

So it's like... there's kind of something here? That probably was the first time that cop had ever seen someone on fire, and when we find ourselves face to face with completely new experiences, we tend to fall back on instinct or training. And the training that the cop fell back on was drawing his weapon and threatening the man who was on fire, so that tells you a little bit about cops (that we knew already). I also wouldn't be surprised if that cop needs therapy after seeing that shit up close and in person.

Gregory's second comment is correct. When you panic, you default to your training. It's the whole reason you train in the first place. This dude short-circuited and ended up on the default "draw gun and yell get on the ground" loop.

Thats the least problematic comment in the thread, yeah, but thats still horrific. That American police are trained to default to pulling out their weapon is an insane fucking thing

Oh, sorry, I meant that it was the only correct comment. The rest are insane and not worth engaging with. That's my fault for poor wording.
