Imo he's been plying his cult to announce he's now an out of the closet libertarian for a year or two. They absolutely love him dragging actual leftists and will write up 5000 word essays about why constantly talking over a black woman trying to discuss desegregation with "So you want to murder all the white people?" is actually cool and good.
The “communism” that he advocates for is already just capitalism, but with worker coops and a smaller state. He would deny that, but when he talks about what he’s in favor of, that’s what he talks about
I had a friend (now-ex friend) that was a leftist then fell down the Vaush hole and turning into a raving liberal. His politics became completely asinine, and he constantly made it personal because he was indoctrinated to.
It doesn't shock me at all that Vaush is unmasking slowly because I knew he was at best a liberal from the start. He hijacked the popular rise of leftism during the Trump years and convinced his base that by being staunch libs they were the real progressives because they "win". He also is going to follow the route of Destiny because that is simply what he is financially railroaded into.
To me this honestly feels like the best path for him and his fanbase. Their ideology is pure spite and we clearly can't deprogram Vaush himself (I doubt anybody could), so ideally his followers will just gradually get more and more ideologically deranged until they finally refuse to call themselves "leftists" anymore and we no longer have to argue over whether or not they're "allies." Sure, the right/libs will just absorb them instead, but they've proven they're useless at anything other than intentionally provoking people so i doubt it'd help them. I'd rather they be mocking from the sidelines than actually organizing and sabotaging movements from the inside.

They'll just move on to becoming neoliberals who talk about how they were radicals in their youth before facing reality or something like that.
