"easing sanctions"
Apparently just means letting an oil company function because oops we fucked the world's energy economy with unilateral sanctions.
Given that its Venezuela's largest export that's hardly something to scoff at.
I just hope Maduro's getting his pound of flesh up front. The Scorpion will stab you in the back halfway across the river just for the hell of it.
It's funny how they claim Maduro is this huge drug lord when right next door the Colombian state is pretty much totally captured by the cartels and murder a horrifying number of left-wing and environmental activists on a regular basis (but its fine because they're our Israel in Latin America)
They get shitloads of military aid (in the name of the "War on Drugs") and a largely free hand by the media, NGOs, and US political institutions to persecute everyone the US doesn't like within their borders (FARC and other communists, trade unionists, environmental activists, Venezuela in general, etc)
I was more referring to them being a highly militarized terroristic state but @Thomas_Dankara also covered a relevant aspect regarding the indigenous peoples
every country in both north and south america has been an apartheid state when it comes to Indigenous Americans and/or Africans
Israel is in the process of doing to Palestinians what the American nations already did to its indigenous inhabitants over a century ago
It could be, but I'm concerned that it'll end up being very lib with how conservative Colombia is. Still hoping for the best.
After :castillo-cowboy: and Boric, I'm not above disappointment. But anything to get the boot off the neck of the South for a minute.
Now this is the pink tide I was hoping for :sicko-crowd: :maduro-coffee:
Don’t feel too hopeful. It’s to boost :guaido: and because they need oil lmao
Maduro himself is under indictment in the United States, accused of conspiring “to flood the United States with cocaine” and use the drug trade as a “weapon against America.”
:wut:
