I feel like people do read manuals, but it's cheaper not to include manuals so corporations don't. And it's just another part of the whole general economic decline as they chase that ever distant profit.

When I started out I used a cracked copy of FL Studios and then pirated or downloaded free VSTs. That's probably the cheapest way to start. You can get a midi controller for really cheap as well. If you're wanting something more physical it really depends on what you wanna do. Is there a specific sound or workflow you wanna go for?
I could swear I was once aware of a great site to creatively acquire VSTs and whatnot, like Fitgirl Repacks but for audio. Did I dream this? I'm on RED, so I have options, but I'd love to not have to blow my ratio on such things.

well, it's a mixer. so most of this is self-explanatory: just six audio channels with (from top to bottom) trebble, mids, bass, volume and mute. The big knob on the underside is probably master volume, the LED strips are gain, the LEDs with the headphone and the knob beneath them are probably for the headphone volume. seems pretty straightforward except for the FX part - if i had to guess, the blue I is "up", the orange II is "down" in the FX menu.
what worries me more is that this thing looks as frail and wobbly as i'd expect from Teenage Engineering, and that all these knobs are absolutely tiny.
Zoomers will bring excessive labels back don't worry.

Anybody who is willing to pay $1200 for a 6 channel mixer is a mark. This things defining feature is that its so small you have to buy special cables for it. The op field is at least a daw in a very small box and even tho I would never pay 2k for it I wouldn't make fun of somebody I they did. This seems less innovative and more like a hipster trust fund grab.
I think because it's like 4" across and anyone who would buy one of these probably has all the functions memorized.
This is also a pet peeve of mine. I'm sure it carried over from mobile first web design.
Damn, I really want to use this with midi mixer now.
Edit: Sweet Jesus it costs $1,199 never mind.
