I've tried self-cuts before and I always come out looking like I live in a prison camp. I'm just gonna get shaggy as hell until barber shops are safe to go to again.
The problem is I need to wait like 2 months between attempts and I don't know of anything I've been even reasonably good at after trying it twice in 4 months.
Idk about everyone looking like POW's, I just follow this guide and it looks pretty good, you can vary the length on top to your liking(oviously if it's not your style you'll probably hate it more than looking like a POW).

practice makes perfect, at first I looked like I was in a POW camp, now I look like I'm in a minimum security furlough program
