I would like one (1) friend please, does anyone here know how to go about acquiring one on the cheap?
You gotta find a hobby and just stick to it. People are troup animals. If you just hang around them enough they will useually start to like you. Works the same with most species of primate if humans are not available.
I reccomend archery, boardgames, or larp. Failing that if there is an anarchist org near you that would be a good choice. Go repair some tail lights.
archery sounds cool. I've heard that an arrow can actually penetrate through bulletproof armor :thinkin-lenin:
Now is perhaps a good time time to learn to stab people from a distance
I'm super lonely but I also have avoidant tendencies so whenever I start talking to a new person I go into HIGH ANXIETY mode :screm3: I dunno how I'm gonna rebuild my post-covid social circles

same. I'm basically a complete hermit and I never even end up talking to any new people. haven't met a new person IRL in about 14 years, all my friends are online
Just post your GPS coordinates and we'll find a hexbear near you :fedposting:
I can't have friends cus they always only wanna fuck and then it's either another relationship or nothing
People have a real hard time separating platonic, romantic, and sexual attraction. Including me, unfortunately 😔
I am a guy so I have had the opposite situation. After hooking up with people we tend to end up friends. That might just be a kink thing though.
I have also experienced this problem. The solution was to avoid hetero men
That's one of the most annoying things to me. Like you can't be friends with someone of the opposite sex without people assuming you're fucking, eventually going to fuck, or secretly have feelings for each other. I'd talk to a woman in a purely platonic way and rumors would spread that we had "a thing" or I was going to "get with that." This was said by both men and women.
There's something weirdly nice about going on a date with someone, having it go poorly, then ending up friends. It makes me feel like I made a good choice asking them out in the first place.
Swap the tag for something else when you go to the self checkout
I dnow i kept most of my friends from school and struggle to make any new ones. Maybe its cos i smell of onions or smthn idk.
Shared experiences is the way it's been for me, just kind of stumble into meeting people. Trick is finding those experiences. Just go do shit where others are doing the same thing and odds are someone there will be cool. I'm probably not the greatest person to ask for this tbh.
Good question, I hardly see the two good friends I have since our schedules are so busy, I've been hanging out with my zoomer commie cousins a lot though and that's been nice.
Everyone here is suggesting hobbies, I recommend table top rpgs like dnd. With all the corona and monkeypox going around physical meetups may not be great, but there's actually a discord westmarches campaign that was posted on this site. The invite is on the games community sidebar.
How do you get into TTRPGs if you've never played before? I've been interested but intimidated for a while now
There's a few places to start. The discord I was talking about is called the Axe and Sickle, as I sadi link is in the games sidebar. If you just show up and say you're new and want to learn to play you'll be welcomed, all you need is a working internet connection and a mic.
Besides that, there's a lot of open games on roll20. I don't like roll20, and playing with internet randos is a big dice roll, but it could work.
There's also a subreddit called r/lfg as in looking for game. There are plenty of people there either recruiting and willing to take new players or new palyers asking if there's a table that will give them a chance. ttrpgs are something you kinda gotta learn by doing. It may seem tough at first but once you get the hang of it you'll find it real easy.
I hope that helps, good luck out there.
I used to have a lot of friends but they all moved away to different corners of the planet. We try to talk online sometimes but it's clear being apart has changed us in a lot of ways. We're so distant now and it's really weird how that's impacted how we relate one another.
