I will let it be known that I am indeed a Pitbull Hater.

    Here's why:

His music is pretty frequently misogynistic, plus he's a gusano.

This is a joke. The dogs are fine.

A lot of people don't like dogs. Outside of the west dog hate/indifference, or whatever you want to name it, is more common than you think.

But yeah comments saying dogs are Hitler worshipers are really fucking weird. Just :what-the-hell: shit.

I was born in Asia so I'm well aware, but it's still insane to hate an animal no matter how much it seems to align with western customs to love dogs. Some people are showing their whole ass right now.

no ban anything that makes that horrifying noise that makes my brain go haywire

a person who is barking - for jokes, for kinks, whatever - should also be banned (and perhaps deserve a worse punishment for having greater control over their impulses and still deciding to crap all over my ears)

Had a german shepherd as a kid and she never did a fucking thing bad - other than once putting a Maltese's whole head in her mouth after it barked at her every day for 3 years, then broke through the fence containing it and bit my dog 3 times. She didn't even bite lmao, just widened her jaw and stuffed the other dog's head right in.

Now have a spoodle and she's a little goof who would have a better high jump PB than i would

Every week at the dog park i witness at least one person who's dog is being a shit and there is no breed or size-related trend whatsoever. The last time dogs were broken up it was a fucking corgi kicking off.

I often want to heem shit dog owners

what? Come on, that's ridiculous. I adopted my dog from the animal shelter as a puppy without exactly knowing just how big he would get. He's not huge or anything (45-50 lbs) but still, I don't know if you're joking, but if you can't understand how someone could love a 'larger' dog and want to keep one, maybe you can't simply can't understand certain human-animal relationships? No need to judge other people for this.

I just don't care for most dogs, sadly. Too many negligent dog-owners have caused me to be very wary of any large dogs I don't know well.

Sure, but that won't make me less uneasy around them if I don't know they're chill. Personally, I'm in favor of restricting ownership of large dogs to people who demonstrate that they're responsible enough to handle them.

It depends on the country and the context.

In the USA, yeah it will be used for racist reasons. But China bans pretty much every major dog breed in large cities and I don't think it's for racist reasons.

It's much like voter ID laws (correct me if I'm wrong here), in America they're racist and used to prevent BIPOC from voting, but in other countries they're just seen as normal, mainly due to standard government issued IDs.

I don't think bans on any animals are okay no matter who is doing them.

Personally, in really dense urban environments I understand. There's little room for the larger dogs to exercise there anyways.

But countrywide yeah I agree with you, no need for that.

On a lighter note, you're sure about any animals? I would really like a ban on the local naive wildlife wrangler trying to tame and have a pet lion, hyena or hippo lol.

Yeah but people in this thread are showing their ass.

Anti-pitbull hysteria is born out of racism I already proved my case in my prior effort post.

Domesticated animals and wild animals are not the same this is a false equivalence and I will not be answering any more questions but rather referring you to my prior effort post.

Anti-pitbull shit is just racism I don't feel the need to explain myself again.

idk if you're not old enough to remember it or not but there has been massive amounts of racist propaganda around bully breeds and people of color in general and conflating the two. It's also born out of scientific racism and implying that genetics are a primary factor driving behavior,

I'm not here to relitigate this shit.

Anti-pitbull hate is inextricably intertwined with racism. This is not up for debate.

Okay but personal phobias are often used to justify reactionary legislation and banning specific categories of dogs is a lot like gun control, it will be used for reactionary purposes. The problems with dogs can be better solved by overthrowing capitalism.

i just wish everyone would leash 100% of the time (except off leash parks). I literally wouldn't have any problem with dogs if they did. I bike a lot which throws at least 50% of dogs into a frenzy, it's crazy i get chased almost everytime i go out in the woods and sometimes on the road :(

Yeah sure leashes are good and people should leash their dogs but that has no bearing on the fact that anti-pitbull legislation/hatred is rooted in racism.

"No investigation, no right to speak" is advice that more people should take to heart, and if you have in fact investigated the issue, some actual evidence for your positions would be nice

This is generally directed at the anti-pitbull people because Nakoichi has already made a good post on the subject that I have yet to see anyone make any serious attempt to refute
