Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can, thank you.

Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

How reliable is this survey? https://www.allianceofdemocracies.org/initiatives/the-copenhagen-democracy-summit/dpi-2022/

Because according to this Iran has a higher positive perception of USA than China which is just :what-the-hell:

I'm automatically very skeptical about internet surveys done by a group called the Alliance of Democracies.

"Alliance of Democracies" — Most liberal lanyard-ass sounding name ever.

Oh God oh fuck I looked at their board of directors. You know who's on? Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former Danish prime minister who based his political power on bribing home owners and normalising racism through an alliance with the far right. He lied and deceived his nation into the Iraq war and did everything the Bush regime ordered him to.

During the 2008 financial crisis his bribing the home owners fucked the economy and he jumped ship and became secretary general of NATO as a reward for loyal service to American imperialism. When Turkey demanded that he closed down a Kurdish TV station to approve of his appointment he did so without blinking.

You know who else is on the board? Fritz Schur, the oligarch who bankrolled Rasmussen's liberal party for years through shady and secretive donations. Nobody knows exactly how much he paid but it was enough to give him a seat at the party leadership's closed meetings. Schur is a massive snob and used his political influence as well as outright bribes to get the queen to give him a fancy title at court.

So these are the kind of people who are lecturing us about democracy: A war criminal, liar and racist accompanied by a snobbish oligarch.

It's almost impressive how he still manages to remain relevant just outside of the public eye. Is Fogh Rasmussen even still a member of the party anymore?

He is no longer active in party politics but may still be a member of the party. Today he runs Rasmussen Global, a ghoulish consultancy company that describes itself like this:

We are a firm with a purpose: to help democratic governments and companies navigate a complex world and get their message across, harnessing decades of political expertise with data-driven analysis. We shape and deliver winning campaigns to influence opinions, policies and decision-makers at global and local level.

Former clients include Ukrainian ex-president Petro Porochenko and a shady Estonian bank. He has also advised Citigroup on shit they were doing in Africa.

The Alliance of Democracies is a side grift of his, founded to promote "democracy and free markets" and being little piss babies about the decline of the US empire.

In his spare time he goes on TV to act like an elder statesman. He has also done a travel show for the state broadcaster where he went to Italy to drink wine.

He belongs in a jail cell for his many crimes if you ask me.

I've actually not seen him on TV for a long time. I knew about the ghoul-consulting that he did, though I never heard about his clients, just figured that they were probably not gonna be good people. I hate him for what he did with regards to foreign policy, especially because his justification for Iraq was always something about the special relationship that we had with the yanks. I'd explain in detail where I think he belongs, but I'd rather not get a visit from PET, so imma do the Liam thing and say that I hope he has a nice time.

Yea does not seem unlikely. Usa propaganda is much stronger than chinese and russian propaganda. Look at xinjiang, do you think people will stop believing in genocide there if UN saya there isnt

Well they tend to rail against the “CCP” because that’s what their media brainwashers decided to re-brand to a couple years back (look it up on Google n-gram, western media called the Communist Party of China the CPC until around 2010-2012, during the “pivot to Asia” where it all abruptly switched to CCP. Why did they do this? Probably to get a fresh slate for searches so old neutral/positive articles about the CPC didn’t pop up, only the new negative articles)

I'd imagine a large section of the secular society in Iran captured by theological government doesn't find the gov't that popular in Iran and thus views the western imperialism through that lens.

My understanding, based on admittedly decade old anecdotes, is that Iranians view the American people and the American government as separate entities, and have much less animosity towards the people.

I've always heard that Iranians really like Americans and absolutely loathe the American government. Every American I've heard of who has visited Iran has described the people there are some of the kindest and most hospitable people they've ever met.
