when i was a kid i flatly refused to believe that the UK existed

    mainly

    1. queens were just things in fairy tales

    2. harry potter is fiction and it was based there so obviously everything in it is fiction

    3. i thought the accent sounded stupid and clearly made up lmao

large parts of the posh southern english accent were just made up because someone thought they sounded cool. for example tomahto was literally just some dumbass doing a silly voice and it caught on.

the English from the north are worth feeling sorry for in this respect because they speak english the way it was always spoken and get made fun of by people who started randomly changing the way they speak for the stupidest reasons imaginable.

At one point macarone was slang for fashionable in London because someone was in Italy heard the word and thought it sounded cool without knowing what it meant

The song Yankee Doodle explicitly dunks on this sort of person

it's more complicated than that the song Yankee Doodle dunks on Americans for calling things macarone that the singer deems uncool.

both the song and the people it's making fun of use macarone to mean fashionable

    non-constitution

Nice. I'm sure half the replies are libs going "the british constitution is a vibe, actually"

the ministerial code of conduct is pretty much entirely vibe based

that being said America is living proof that having too rigid a constitution is dumb and bad

I kinda like the Chapo take on it:

They're going to basically turn the queen into a demigod and she will "rule" from the great beyond while they slowly get rid of all the monarchy window dressing.

that is definitely going to happen and libs will still say stuff like "North Korea is a failed state because their president is a dead guy"

that would be badass tbh Going back to their mystical roots and admitting that they like the Queen because actual dark magic and demiurge.

i wonder how many people would just die from rage if you'd show this to every single monarchist. absolute masterpiece, pure fire from start to finish.

I always did prefer Eccelston as the Doctor. I liked his long coat, grinning face and straightforward attitude that lacked the snark of later doctors. Like a neutral good Vinnie Jones
