How fucking hard is it to just talk about class? Why is it so fucking difficult to get people to understand it?

Don't answer because I know it's not about understanding. It's about avoiding it. But goddamn.

Speaking of Evans, I tried to listen to his podcast Behind the Bastards but the first episode is him claiming that Stalin was drunk and lonely all the time, so he made senior officials stay up all night drinking with him and they were terrified if they didn’t he’d have them shot.

is it really destroying an anarchist movement when most of them just joined the red army straight up and exiled makhno for being kind of an asshole (who did some cool things but still an asshole) :left-unity-3:

ugggh I went on a big binge of sources at one point in original Russian/Ukrainian. I couldn't tell you all the names I read but Volin was a big one and he was pretty critical of Makhno despite ostensibly being on his side. Makhno had some cool moments like shooting a major pogromist leader in the head, stepping up on his body and giving a speech decrying anti-Semitism. iirc Volin found this a bit gauche despite being a radical Jew himself.

There were some women Volin mentioned who disliked Makhno for being a male chauvinist and I went and read up on them and they actually led some anarchist garrisons that later joined the Red Army without conflict and lived till the 60s or something. Most of the exiles were kinda assholes that decided to keep fighting the Red Army despite considerable concessions given to the majority of the Black Army that did join the Red Army, including regional autonomy rights which were the big reason the whole thing went down.

god damn, that casual mishmash of opposing groups and lazy both sides-ing. You say the Panthers were "intimately related" to the cops, huh? That's an interesting way to phrase the Fred Hampton murder

Now this may look on the surface like a straightforward and horrible case of violent brutality with a single clear aggressor, but let me assure you that Edmund Kemper was actually intimately related to all those people he beheaded.
