    That's been the idea with the ever-popular "their own people" line when it comes to criticizing everybody but the US. It explicitly implies that if violence is meted out to foreigners rather than a state's citizens, it becomes permissible, or at least appreciably more so.

      Who was it who got into trouble a while ago for saying the Russian invasion is worse than the Holocaust because Hitler didn't genocide "his own people"?

      Anyone the state designates as a foreign enemy is simply less of a human I guess
