      Kent State Massacre whomst?

You don't have to go anywhere that far back. All those BLM protests suffered horrific police brutality, including cops just hitting people with their cars. The recent spat of SCOTUS protests involved civilian protesters hit with police cars. People at the NRA event in Houston and at the Uvalde got roughed up by police.

Yeah, I just meant "literally massacring protesting college students" as a direct parallel to what point they're trying to make here

A lot of those BLM protester were college students. I'm sure there were college students among the Roe protesters and Uvalde protesters.

Kent State is notable as a media/historical fixation. It was not a unique moment in which a US agent turned on university students. It was a unique moment in which the media institutions gave it substantial coverage. Modern day Kent State incidents simply aren't reported as such.

Yeah but Crime is right, it is the most salient comparison, and the most direct one since it happened specifically to college students at college. If the redditor wants to specify college students, might as well stick with the national guard literally gunning them down on campus in a wildly known massacre

Hmmm, I wonder how Reddit reacted to that (CW: racism, so much racism)
