My partner says I kinda look like Kiefer Sutherland in that movie (facial structure and the way I dress) and goddamn that's a compliment.
Movie was really fun! I wish the final fight had some more to it, but overall it was a nice romp through SoCal with vampires. I feel like overall, if they had padded out an extra 10 minutes of the movie, it could have done a lot for the plot and characters.
Anyone have any other horror-adjacent fun movies they recommend?
Those boys were being sexually abused by Hollywood bigwigs while on set.
In those days the juveniles would be left alone all day with no chaperones. Is it any surprise the Hollywood producers raped them?
Lost Boys does hold up pretty well. Maybe closest in tone I can think of is Tremors? Like the vibe is definitely very different but the balance of comedy and horror is about the same.
Just watched tremors again a few weeks ago, its still good.
Oooo good call! I've only seen that one on TV when I was really young!
Spent a couple of summers in Santa Cruz with grandparents. My cheap ass grandpa wouldn't take me cause it was too expensive. San Andreas road from the KOA to Santa Cruz is insanely beautiful. Trying to camp at one of the state parks in summer is harder than getting into Yosemite. Hopefully I'll get to visit again.
you seen little shop of horrors? the frank oz one, though the roger corman one is fun for what it is. that's my go to horror-comedy. might be stretching the definition of adjacent a little, it gets really goofy at times, but it's about a monster that's eating people and it's a metaphor for capitalism, so there you go.
army of darkness is the only evil dead movie that's horror adjacent as opposed to just horror, and evil dead 2 is horror but still fun horror. don't watch evil dead 1 looking for a fun movie
Still trying to manifest a reality where The Lost Boys murdered Reagan.
night of the creeps, return of the living dead, the blob (1988)
the wraith (1986) is a lot of fun.
