If anyone ever asks you for an example of a contradiction of capitalism, this is a good one.

Gen Z and Millennials ask the government to improve material conditions so that having kids is tenable.

Build free houses Give free healthcare Do literally...anything, something about climate change

But also, if the US had a "population problem" (it doesn't) the easiest solution is let in all the immigrants that dems and republicans are currently working together to shoot at the border. That's not a long term solution, but, it's the obviously moral thing to do in the short term and in the long term end the reason for asylum seekers eg end US imperialism and malignant influence in South America (and elsewhere)

One more thing to add is to mandate baby boomers to retire already, so gen X and millennials can be promoted and then entry-level jobs can exist again.

No boomers, I'm NOT going to sacrifice my dreams and be your plumber. I fully intend to use my degree whether you like it or not.

My dad, a boomer, is now on his third career...

To be clear, he absolutely doesn't need to work. But he keeps going... he's very healthy too. Early 60s, good health, works out still, so he could easily work another 15-20 years assuming his health doesn't decline rapidly. It's kinda crazy. I ask him all the time like "Dad, why don't you just retire for real..." "oh, I don't know what I'd do then." And he smiles. The mind of a boomer is an enigma.

My mom is basically the same. She gets social security and she's constantly (constantly dude) complaining to me about restrictions on how much she can work and get benefits from retirement and I'm like "Mom! Just retire!" She doesn't have multiple pensions like my dad (what an incredibly different world my parents lived in), but he's always supported her while she raised their kids and she works part time jobs for something to do. She loves those shitty little jobs and absolutely can't stop.

Boomers just can't stop working. It's crazy. And to he 100% crystal clear here, my parents absolutely do not need to work another day and they'll be fine. It really boggles my mind and annoys me, which seems to confuse them. I just don't get it. Wtf is wrong with boomers

God, I wish that would happen. But the time boomers are actually (forcibly) retired, gen X and millennials will be old as fuck and their lives mostly wasted already. And automation increases anyways.

Hell no. Aside from the fact that I'm most likely sterile now and will be here in a month, my wife and I could never afford to raise a child. The funniest part? I legit would like to adopt someday, but it'll never happen for the aforementioned reason.

Third places and walkable environments so we can even meet people and date cheaply for a start
Cheap housing so we have somewhere to retire to with our dates
Reasonable work hours, non-poisonous food, and non-hateful media so we can even get in the mood for baby-making
Some reason to expect a humane tomorrow. Unlike the 'pro-lifers', we love the unborn and do not wish them to suffer

I love my children so much I even love them as hypotheticals, and therefore I will not have any until I get my shit together and move to a walkable area, raising them in the suburbs just feels like child abuse.

It's hilarious seeing the baby boomers rip up the social contract since the 80s-90s and then flip off millennials...and then scratch their heads wondering why millennials aren't exactly bending over backwards for them.....Like.....what did you expect, you gullible fucks?
