No update today, I'm frantically going through all of my previous social media accounts to delete any negative mention of Assad.
Here is July 9th's update! TLDR? Here's the summary.
No updates on Sundays. Aside from this reminder: Stalin, and the brave Soviet people commanded by him, saved the world from fascism.

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict
Add to the above list if you can, thank you.
Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins
Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)
Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.
Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.
Telegram Channels
Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Last week's discussion post.
Guy on twitter telling me, without a shred of irony, "Russia's problem is that they don't have a real economy. Except for natural resources and the weapons industry there's not a lot there."
Motherfucker I am losing my mind

High tech exports that still rely on supplies of semiconductor fabs almost entirely from overseas, it's an economic paper tiger.
real economy is when you move money around
The "real economy" in the US is natural resources and the weapons industry.
if serious? Chemicals/drugs, equipment for producing them, optics, custom electronics, robotic stuff , heavy industrial equipment (basically whatever cat produces). All of this is sort of doubled up in europe, but being slowly monopolizing to usa/getting sold to finance capital
Armaments?
the top CPU and GPU companies (Intel, AMD, Apple, Qualcomm, NVIDIA) are all American
iPhones are not manufactured here but the A15 chip is designed here. Apple does make very powerful mobile chips
California at least had a lot of agriculture and some of that is exported
The US has so many NFTs, dogecoins, fuzzlewuzzies, cyber-dingleballs, and don't even get me started on the newest innovation, hyperwoggles. How many bitcoin mining stations does Russia have, despite being the largest country on Earth? Exactly, not nearly as many as us. I just lost my house in the rapidfire financial crashes of 2023, 2024, and 2027, however, it was because economists invented three cutting-edge developments that subsequently destroyed my and everybody else's savings and quadrupled housing prices in two hours and instead of going to prison they each got immunity to paying taxes, a Presidental Medal of Freedom and a 100-foot tall statue, but have you considered that these kinds of innovations are what makes democracies superior to the aging and stagnant economies of places like Russia, which still depend on ancient commodities like metals and natural gas? Those things were around when the dinosaurs were walking the earth! Did the dinosaurs have NFTs? Didn't think so. God bless the United States of America.
The Slavic brain pan is incapable of conceiving such economic genius as "Being the first guy to invest 10,000 slurp juices into Dingleberry Doggystyle tokens", that is what America is all about

russia is somehow able to produce advanced weaponry but not anything else
Advanced weaponry that threatens the entire world but also for Slavic brainpan reasons none of it works and they forget to pack lunches and change their tires. The enemy is both weak and strong.
Meanwhile our economy is just a bunch of made up bullshit, imaginary numbers, ponzi schemes and treats
LOL
This is like when libs think Africa is just a bunch of mud huts. They are ignorant of the world but believe themselves learned, they think if they don’t see something it doesn’t exist. So since they don’t know about Russian industry then there is no such thing. If they don’t know about imperialism there is no such thing. If they don’t know about African development and infrastructure there is no such thing. Since all they know about Afghanistan is “Taliban” when an earthquake hits, they deserve it and all the victims are Taliban.
