This is clearly a British person pretending to be an American Democrat.
going with "sips of beer" rather than "bong rips" as the thing that produces 'profound thoughts' also feels british
I was going to say we don't really shorten it to uni, but I guess my experience talking face-to-face with Canadians doesn't reflect how they'll post online. I tend to just say college being acutely aware that almost everyone I interact with is American, but most Canadians might not.
"We should stop letting rich pedophiles hoard the benefits of our labor and automation"

They're right. We all remember the most popular center-left slogan of the past decade, "Medicare for ME".

I want my work to help people, not generate profit for a megacorporation. Simple as.
It is so frustrating to argue with libs who make arguments so old that literally Marx himself responded to them. I get the impression that Marxists already won the debate back in the 19th century and the liberal tactic has just been to pretend the debate has never happened, to continue repeating centuries-old arguments over and over again as if they've never been responded to, and to discourage anyone from looking into Marxism or reading Marx, Lenin, Mao, etc.

Motherfucker I dream of working in the canteen. Just without an unstable chef throwing shit and having to pore over my budget because I make less than $11 an hour.
I fucking loved banging out breakfast - it was great to get in the flow and work hard. Even better I loved making staff meal - go figure when you're feeding people you share camaraderie with it doesn't feel alienated. It's just the abusive environment and tension of opposed interests with management - especially resulting in untenable hours and demands of a skeleton staff - that made it suck.
