    The filibuster excuse for not advocating popular policy is the most annoying. Making your enemies actually filibuster popular policies is a good thing...unless the truth of the matter is that you're also opposed to those popular policies and don't want to inspire mass organizing.

    Of course, no one is really filibustering anything. You just hear that it could theoretically happen and therefore nothing you might benefit from can be attempted.

      Yo I lost my shit when I found out they suspended the filibuster just for raising the debt ceiling.

      At least get them to stand up there a good 48+ hours before you call it good, make them work for it

        No shit. If they want to do a filibuster then they have to do all the work. Let them. You just get to sit back and relax while they just make themselves look like an asshole for hours on end. Of course, this only works in a government that intends to respond to public need. Under the current circumstances it doesn't matter who's liked and who's hated because only the rich will be served anyway.
