How could so many GenZennials buy into the Russian propaganda about America? To find out, we interviewed several random residents of a tent city to find out how much disinformation they consume with their social media. Then they were bulldozed by the cops

    What did people expect?

His old af. His not in good health. The whole party is basically a retirement home community that blames everyone around them for their failures.

Maybe libs and leftist need to get into sports to realize you don't keep the same management if you want to actually win.

Can't wait for Pelosi to retire at age 112 and have a now 89 year old Hillary Clinton take over for her. Biden is also still president in this scenario (it takes him 10 more elections to beat the Republicans after losing in 2024)

I remember during Obama the nightmare scenario was that Obama dies or is assassinated and Biden becomes president. He was a legendary idiot, a man who spent his entire adult life in politics, the type that excels in a corrupt system. Now he's got dementia and it's only exaggerated his pre-existing characteristics.

It's such typical lib nonsense to believe that the answer must be something incredibly complicated and nuanced for it to have been overlooked, and to believe it is a superficial problem which can be solved via analytics and aesthetics

Maybe it's due to his cabinet not having enough people of Hispanic heritage which appeal to Latino voters, perhaps he's losing the youth vote because he is too old...

Or maybe it's because he has not acted on ANYTHING important he promised while quality of life plummets and cost of living soars

I think another aspect is that conservatives are getting what they want hand over fist currently via Supreme Court, and Dems are deadlocked with themselves; libs are losing even though they have the cards, and they're finally getting disillusioned with the whole charade. They won the prelude to the game (the elections), but they're still not winning at the game

There is no "polarization", just the conservatives getting ever more violent and reactionary and the libs too weak and cowardly to do anything about it

One side wants an immediate return to feudal theocracy where the rich feast upon the poor while the other side wants a gradual slide to feudal theocracy where the rich feast upon the poor.

Not only does nobody passionately love Biden - it's impossible for Biden to make anybody feel that way. He just can't do it. Not only will he never fight with the GOP - on a fundamental level he doesn't even understand it was vital to start fighting against them last year.

If Trump's biggest fans were asked what food does Trump make them think of - they might say the best cheeseburger they ever had in their life that they never could forget. They might go on and on talking about how perfect, thick, and juicy that burger was.

In contrast Biden's seems 100% incapable of inspiring the dem base. He's about inspiring as an old slice of cheap American cheese. If it's the middle of the night you want to make a sandwich and you really want cheese - maybe you use that slice. But you'll never have fond memories of the food.

A friend of mine is in his 80s and he's a lib so I tend not to rant about Biden. But he's fallen into the trap of saying "What can Biden do? There's the filibuster..." And yesterday when I said Biden should issue executive orders like crazy despite the court he said "But the supreme court would just strike it all down."

I am a gigantic defeatist so I felt pretty weird trying to make him feel better but said "So what? Let the GOP justices strike it down. Biden and the dems need to fight. They've got to fight." I wanted to add "Why can't they fight?" but he looked glum enough as it was.

Biden and dems would say "If fight - we could lose!" So? You're losing already and you're taking the country down with you. Biden won't even legalize cannabis or just cancel student loans in a sane way without moronic means testing. He seems determined to destroy his party and give the country to the fascists so he can try to prove to himself his fantasy of an America that died many decades ago is real and still exists.

The filibuster excuse for not advocating popular policy is the most annoying. Making your enemies actually filibuster popular policies is a good thing...unless the truth of the matter is that you're also opposed to those popular policies and don't want to inspire mass organizing.

Of course, no one is really filibustering anything. You just hear that it could theoretically happen and therefore nothing you might benefit from can be attempted.

No shit. If they want to do a filibuster then they have to do all the work. Let them. You just get to sit back and relax while they just make themselves look like an asshole for hours on end. Of course, this only works in a government that intends to respond to public need. Under the current circumstances it doesn't matter who's liked and who's hated because only the rich will be served anyway.

Among at least SOME, that idea seems to be catching on slightly.

Like, my brother is a hyper-partisan Warren lib who doesn't identify as progressive. A few months ago my parents were questioning why progressives disliked Biden so much, and before I could even say anything he started laying it out and saying "next time this happens, progressive shouldn't vote Dem. They have every right to be SO mad right now"

EDIT: I forgot to mention that my brother works in politics and is a SELF-DESCRIBED democratic operative lmao. To put it into even more perspective lmao

Especially in solid blue states I think this could work on the state level, at least as much as electoralism ever can

Republicans may have a few strongholds in blue states but they're mostly a joke, the only time they ever win any office like mayor or governor is when the dems fuck up a bit too bad

Just completely reject the national party after taking it over on the local level and keep doing that until there are no regular chud republicans at any level of state government

If this catches on we could call ourselves John Brown Republicans, fuck MAGA because :amerikkka: was never great but maybe we can restore the only shard of good the republican party ever had

We are now in sub-Trump/Carter territory folks.

At around ~30-35% historically presidents lose the support of their party and start seeing primary candidates.

Anything below that for an extended time and governing starts becoming untenable. Presidents will start seeing resignations from within their own cabinets, calls to resign, and mass protests.

    Bit idea

Inspiring Democratic 2022 message: Give us two more senators. That's all we ask. Then we don't have the roadblock of Sinema and Manchin. We can consider enabling access to ending the filibuster.

A bona fide miracle occurs and they get two more senators.

Inspiring Democratic post-election message: In a proud show of American "Doing it together" unity we're keeping the filibuster.

Inspiring Democratic 2024 message: We did nothing for two years. So give us eight more senators. That's all we ask. And then we can consider enabling access to overcoming the filibuster! At this point our democracy is fragile. President Biden's approval rating is sub 30% and among the youth it's sub 10%. He has not been the same since his fall when he broke his hip. Fox News says his brain is rancid clam chowder. This is not true! Our president has an excellent brain.

Do not make fun of the president's stutter. This does not help. Do your duty and vote to save our democracy. You must convince your family to vote and everyone you know to also vote to save our democracy. Especially young people - our democracy is at stake! You don't want President DeSantis. Give us $30. We can consider enabling access to...

I'm serious when I say that even if the dems get five more senate seats - they won't kill the filibuster.

The filibuster is not a law, it's a rule that gets reinstated every term (2 years) with the rest of the rule packages. Rules changes cannot be filibustered.

I'd say the Republicans have unoffically won since Reagan. Since then, every Democrat elected into the presidency has repeated Republican talking points in an attempt to appeal to the mythical moderate. Even when they lose, Republicans continue to govern the country and get most of what they want.
