Why does "Chinese Influence" need to be "countered"? Not everything is a sport/competition, America.

The US also sent at least 500 troops to Somalia recently and that doesn't even include all the contractors and shit plus all the other units already in or around Somalia or other African countries. Like hardly any media covers it more than just the announcement that some troops are getting/got deployed there. It's kinda hard to find good info about a lot of it for me

2 billion dollars over ten years. 200 million dollars a year divided between several dozens of countries.

This is more "bribe somebody by funding his cousin's freedom and democracy think tank" money or "Radio Free [insert_baddie_location]" money than its "fund a new war" money.

    At least that is something.

Sorry to be the one to tell you this USA, but no one outside "the west" likes you.

I know the truth hurts, but that's just how it is.

The destruction of Libya caused a lot of weapons to flow south. Now the US intervenes in those countries as part of counter terrorism. Intervention begets intervention.

Looking forward to all the nuanced, polite discourse that will be on :reddit-logo: and elsewhere regarding African nations and their governance.

Also looking forward to whatever corrupt bastard that gets propped up to murder whatever ethnic minority they feel like
