"you know son that sounds a lot like me and watching cable TV all day. Perhaps we are both victims of capitalist alienation and we should organize to overthrow the government and reconstruct society so all humans are treated with dignity and respect."

I realized this today. This is it man, it’s not getting any better. The best I can hope for is some day the nerds at the pharmaceutical corporations will make a pill that makes you think you’ve been fishing all day. But until then, it’s just shit piled on shit, served with a heaping side of shit.

Yeah, but you get to see some funny animal videos every once in a while, so I guess there’s that?

The upshot is, everyone’s in agreement about it.

Counterpoint it does make me happy to marvel at the graphics quality in my games and to get constant high performance. I also get to compile my code dummy fast and have no latency issues whatsoever with my instrument and simulators

I was like this for a while, like 2006 to 2012. Just had a really empty life back then. I got out of it playing more indie games and getting into emulators.

I actually do believe owning expensive things can make a person happy, but depends on what it is. I own two really nice bicycles and really love them. They've changed how I live.

This was me 2017-18 [just replace gaming with chess], soo glad I'm out of that spiral. Now it feels like a lifetime ago.

PS I didn't drop chess, just fixed the other stuff. :barx:

Casual gaming on one window and another window with social media is where it is at.

Just mosy between them as time allows.

you got a sick rig? Get blender & start doing 3d stuff, it's easy & fun, especially since there's so many CC0 models out there to play with. Hell, it'd be a start to just get The Sims or Cities Skylines or something that makes you make something. Going outside more would probably help too but i get that that's not always viable

I never found these jokes funny

it's just a circlejerk of dumbasses pretending that Canadians are polite? or something and then reposting it 1000000000x even though I have no fucking idea why you'd think that
