I moved to Atlanta last year to escape the hell hole that is Florida. One problem, I can’t buy overpriced “medical” weed, which at this point I’m dying to have again. So, does anyone know anyone or a way for me to find some? This might not be the right place to post this but I’m at a loss. It’s not really fun facing hell world sober and drinking sucks and makes me fat :(

You have to get out and talk to some people. If you have any hobbies, mingle a bit and you'll find a plug.

I know this is the real answer but working a full time job again after waiting tables for 5 years has got me exhausted. Barely go out anymore and meet people. Someone else suggested a dating app so maybe I’ll try bumble or something.

It’s Atlanta! You’ll find it eventually.

I can buy some cartridges or maybe even flowers and send some to you or a PO box. Sounds super fed and sketch but I’m willing to help as a last resort if you need it.

You’re amazing, I will try bumble and see if I can make a friend who knows a friend or something. I did have a guy I was buying pens from but he ghosted me so 🤷‍♂️

If you work in the food industry, ask the cooks or other waitstaff maybe? You prob have to be careful down there though, a lot of people have reefer madness brain. Wish I could be more help!

CBD hemp buds, I've ordered a few times online and I'm convinced a lot of it has higher thc than advertised. Either way, a lot of it smells and tastes like top shelf, is tested. It's a different buzz, but I really enjoy it. Try some CBG strains too, they give me a nice creative energy. Looks like it's legal where you are. https://www.reddit.com/r/hempflowers/ to get some recommended vendors. WNC is highly rated.

I got out of the service industry when I moved to GA, I fucking hated it and I’m very glad to be out. But yeah good memories of finding plugs before getting my medical card all started from the restaurant biz.

Restaurants always have at least one high worker. Just talk to the younger ones and they’ll eventually ask if you smoke. Happens to me all the time even though I give no impressions that I’m interested in drugs lol

Feel like that’s overkill for something as small as weed in a city like Atlanta

could be, i don't know nothin' bout no atlanta weed trade. the darknet has become my preferred source of all recreational substances though. it definitely takes a few hours of reading to get set up and to learn how to do it safely but very worth the convenience and quality imo. doing a cool guy drug handshake in a parking lot/apartment isn't without its merits and it's definitely easier at least at first, given you know a guy who knows a guy.

      It’s essentially weaker, legal weed

No it isn't "essentially weaker, legal weed" that's incredibly misleading. At least be honest about what it is. https://cen.acs.org/biological-chemistry/natural-products/Delta-8-THC-craze-concerns/99/i31

I would characterize top shelf hemp flower and extracts as "weaker, legal weed".

Depends on the dealer. Weed dealer doesn't automatically mean bad person, especially when you find a dealer who only deals weed.

Delta 8 hasn't been produced for very long so no real long term reports. It sketches me out. I order hemp buds online and it gets me stoned, the plants have more thc then they claim. I feel much better about smoking or vaping a plant rather than something that's been chemically processed to make the new trucks top drug.

Nice yeah, fuck yeah science. Cannabis contains 0.1% delta-8-THC. People have been smoking regular weed for thousands of years. You want to isolate a single chemical and mainline it while screaming fuck you hippies, I guess it's your legal right for now, but who said natural = better? It's a matter of long term anecdotal evidence. I wouldn't isolate a single chemical in an apple and take it in large quantities either if it got me high. And yeah, you need to clarify you are talking about the product, if you are going to state that buying weed from a dealer is sketchy. That isn't assumed. It absolutely can dangerous for many reasons beyond the product if you don't know the person you're dealing with. holy shit, I feel like I'm on :reddit-logo: right now. I've been able to find an organic grower in every city I've lived, which is...a lot of places. You just need to look around. Besides all that, single cannabinoid distillates are unpleasant for many people and prone to giving users nasty psychological side effects. Enjoy your truck stop hemp sprayed with d-8 I guess. :shrug-outta-hecks:

              independently lab tested sample

Chiming in with my experiences from the :kkkanada: grey market there is very little chance that each run of the extract is actually tested independently. More likely there is a Volkwagen E-testing-style switcheroo happening in the best case.

Every time I would see "LEGIT VERIFIED LAB TESTS" from a vendor one of the next times I hear their name from a non-bot account is talking about truly horrific QC issues like debris in a $300 jar of honey errl.

If you wanna be cavalier with your health it is your perogative, but I think that this is a waaaaaay more risky//less healthy decision than you are painting it as.

I get what they’re saying. All the vape stores that sell it are a little sketchy about it but that also makes sense too. I’ve found that the gummies worked the best for me but it’s just not quite the same as a nice bowl/joint/bong of actual flower.

Yes I have dabbled into the delta 8, and it definitely is nice. Something is just making me miss a nice bong of some real stuff though. I’ve found the delta 8 flower is really harsh and I don’t get much of a high. The gummies are pretty good though.

I finished my first indoor grow earlier this year and while it wasn't particularly difficult, I definitely wouldn't call it easy. The first four weeks and last two weeks were fairly hands-off, but the plants required daily attention in between (mostly training). A full set of growing equipment can also get pretty pricey, and from what I've seen you get out what you put in as far as yield and quality is concerned. The good thing is that every grow after your first will be significantly cheaper.

Yeah it needs to be checked on, but it's usually just 5-10min/day unless there are problems. I did my first grow in a space bucket, definitely under $100 to get started and the yield was more than $100 worth. There's so many resources out there that I've found weed easier to grow than basically any fruit or vegetable I've ever grown

I started with some guides and resources from r*ddit, specifically r/spacebuckets and r/microgrowery. Now I think I would recommend starting with the guides from growweedeasy.com

The general idea is pretty much just "germinate seed, give it 16+ hours of light per day (typically from an LED light board if you're just starting out) until it gets about half as big as you want it to be, then switch to giving it no more than 12 hours of light per day to make it start flowering, when it finishes flowering about 2-3 months later chop it down, let it dry a little, trim, and smoke"

Roommates def complicated things though, it'll be difficult to hide from people who live with you.

I was so happy to get out. I’m in Gwinnett which is basically north Atlanta and the food options are 1000x better here. Also there’s just more to do in general. But the weed being illegal has been a huge downer for me since my favorite thing to do is smoke and play video games 😞

I hope you can get out soon!

I’m thankfully in what I confidently believe is the best city in Florida (low bar but still). I just signed onto do my job for another year and renewed my lease for the year, but my plan is to move out of state next summer. I’ve wanted to leave ever since my parents moved us back here like 15 years ago and I’m still here even though they’re gone and it’s getting scary here fast.

Don't self dox but I wanna guess. Please judge me for my answers , this is such a hard question lol, I could see why someone who lives in certain cities would think they're the best but a lot of them are objectively wrong
