Fantasy eSports but instead of drafting professional players you draft the in game characters. Yea I couldn’t make opening day but my auto draft picked up the heavy and mercy for me so I think I have a good shot this season. Really I’m trying to get the rook though, they’re looking really good in the pre-season
the heavy and mercy for me
another smash clone but with class-shooters? must be destroyed
I don't know how fantasy sports work but if I get IdrA on my team, does he quit the game while he's ahead and his opponent is busy sieging down their own command center by accident just like in real life?
I feel like I just rolled a 20 on an intelligence check because I remembered this ancient forgotten history.
Oh damn, yeah I used to make decent money, couple thousand a year doing this for league of legends when I was an avid follower of the professional scene in college. The key was to watch for the up and coming Chinese and Asian-Pacific teams who always had the best top lane and jungle play during that era, really easy to boost your team stat lines, with whole strategies around feeding those lanes. It was pretty easy because most people just obsessed over Korea, Europe, and NA, which was understandable for Korea, but NA never really had the best players for anything (maybe Sneaky?).
As well, all of those teams focused on methodical mid and bot lane play, with some exception (Unicorns come to mind). As well, grabbing Korean players was honestly sub optimal in a fantasy meta, because Korean teams were so cautious due to how easy it was for their meta teams to snowball and win mid-game, but that made for low kill average games. Easy money all things considered.
These days idk, I don't have the time to watch everything you need to watch and I'm sure the meta is different now.
Dota 2 had (has?) fantasy esports built into its season pass for the irl esports event
I was always ass at it, the international is hard just because the western, eastern, and euro teams play each other so infrequently.
Still remember that TI3 fountain hook tho
Damn I got excited because I thought you meant a competitive fantasy game with an eSports scene existed. Then I remembered I actually signed up for a fantasy team this year, self cringe.

Same; I'd cheer team 'Players' any TTRPG game (and I mean any TTRPG game!).
