This is a terrible take. RMT is right.

The unions are more popular than ever right now, much more so than the government or the media, being deliberately contrarian on an issue that literally doesn't matter but the majority of the population have brainworms about would be a huge fuck up.

They're still striking, a deliberately generic 'respects' statement costs them nothing, and strike days could well have more impact in terms of projected footfall/usage etc since we've got no idea how the next week or so if going to affect working schedules, travel, time off etc.

Seriously they should be promoting people calling out because of "grief for the poor Queen" or someshit rather than this.

I think that would be suicide in Britain. The smart and ‘politically correct’ thing would be paying respects to the hag but still calling for strikes. Maybe mention a story when the queen sat next to a poor to make her seem relatable.

It absolutely would be. They're more popular than anytime in the last 50 years including with non-left voters. The government is a joke. It takes nothing to put up a generic 'respects blah blah' post lost amongst all the others and shift the strike days to those that might actually be more impactful as business gets back to normal and footfall goes up.

Ok look. The. Edit is still Tory. The govnerment is still Tory.

It’s the right move to play along for now if they want any support. Same way the SNP is

The SNP is different they have a majority in Scotland they should just call a referendum. Shit or get off the pot they've been talking for ages either leave or shut up about it

what would the PM do if they just did it.

Also I'm pretty sure anyone can do a referendum that's just asking people a bunch of questions

Bank of England still controlle the countries finances of its an illegal vote they can withhold it. There’s political incentives as well, if they just get up and leave they won’t have the connections form the EU they need.

Remember the Catalonia referendum and independence declaration? Yeah

            It’s a complicated matter

How many get killed by austerity? And you're going to let one extra death get in the way of fixing that?

well that makes sense, since the queen's death means that workers and their familes don't need to eat

As people are pointing out, RMT isn't wrong for doing this becuase British people are the most class-cucked losers in the whole world, but this is also to say that no left movement in Britian can achieve anything more than tepid social democracy unless there is a sea-change in British public thought and, as a people, they end their addiction to boot leather.

Therefore, people should just ignore what happens in the UK, none of it matters and even if they manage to do something good (like getting Corbyn to be Labor Leader) it will ultimately come to nothing. Although we should still make fun of them when something bad happens in the UK, as a country they don't deserve anything less (and in fact deserve quite a lot more :nuke:).

When I die, I hope they strike early and strike extra to memorialize me.
