Just vibing after I listened to the last ep. That was a fun ride. Holy shit it's been three years.

Mostly good weekly slop and that was pretty good for the pipeline. Thanks Dave and Josh for helping me stay sane.

I love how somewhere down the line they just stopped bothering and basically didn't talk about the show except to dunk on it, instead focusing on current events. In retrospect, it means that it won't be great to listen to if you come back to it after years, but whatever, the COVID rants helped me stay sane when we're being gaslit by all levels of government.

They both have some brainworms, Josh more than Dave from what I can tell, but it was a fun ride.

Dave has at least called for re-education camps, so he gets a few bonus points in my book.

While Sorkin was still with the show, they'd periodically talk about how they'd been convinced he was a good screenwriter up until they started doing this. Lots of nuts-and-bolts of cinematography in the discourse. I really enjoyed that, just because hearing from two writers how to do good writing was fun.

Then Sorkin left, and there was just less and less to talk about. You were just kinda left with whatever crap Lawrence O'Donnell slathered on the screen. The second-to-last episode really was just "Man, epic senioritis. They're just phoning it all in. Oh well, anyways..."

Have they suggested a West Wing Thing Thing yet where they relisten to their podcast and do an episode a week about it?

Do I need to watch The West Wing to enjoy this?

I think the hosts (or at least Josh) would recommend you just watch the Sopranos instead.

I never watched the show (and after this, could never recommend it), but I enjoyed the podcast.

Absolutely not, they take the damage from the cognito hazard so you don't have to.

Probably wouldn't hurt to watch one or two of the "Big" episodes, so you can at least get a taste of what they're referring to. Like, if nothing else, you get to know who the hell all these people are.

But generally, no. Especially if you're starting from the top, there's nothing they don't tear down mercilessly. Its pretty comprehensive.

It has been a while since I last listened to it, but ep. 17 White house Pro-Am is pretty good. They are loosing their minds over it, as it is the NAFTA episode where caring about child slavery is "this weird crazy leftist activism".

I was wondering if they’d move on to other lib media or something. Ending it is probably a smart move, would like more content from them tho.

They're working on some new podcast called The Audit, but I don't think there's any episodes out yet.

EDIT: Also they did one Newsroom episode right at the end.

156 episodes and they kept it real the whole way through.

Can't wait to hear the next thing.
