No updates on Thursdays.
September 16th's mini-update is here, because western journalists are bad at their jobs. Here's the in-thread comment.
Today and tomorrow I'm gonna be doing some prep as I'm moving in a few weeks. The updates will continue as planned on Monday.
:Care-Comrade: to you all.

Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins
Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)
Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.
Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Georgia comments on opening ‘second front’ against Russia
Like, I know that Russian performance in this war is pathetic, and the sharks are swimming around. But do they think opening a second front will make Russia treat them the same as she treat Ukraine, with one hand tie behind her back.
Holding a democratic referendum on whether to go to war is very ancient Athenian. I'm 98% sure that it won't happen. Weirder things have happened but it wouldn't end well for Georgia even if Russia can't fully devote their troops there.
I guess it's at least interesting to speculate because Georgia has similarities with Ukraine. Both are NATO wannabe states, both have generally pro-Russian breakaway states on their border with Russia. Can't comment on military strength though.
Georgians who would be voting can presumably remember 2008, I know Georgia did some shuffling in their military after and got a bunch of new equipment, and I know Georgia has a foreign legion in Ukraine right now, but it's hard to imagine the public saying "uh, yes please let's do 2008 again"
i dont think Russia'd be able to curbstomp them like last time, the US has been arming/training Georgia since right after the war. that shit would be so fucked tho starting a war on the border of the most active & independent NATO member :yikes:
Will be funny if Georgia attacking Russia just gives Putin as excuse for full mobilization
holy shit thatd be really funny :this-is-fine:
I'd feel really bad for the one Georgian guy I know
