Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall the BoS doing the whole 40k "sacred rites of the machine" thing. Their society was modelled on medieval monks by the writers, but their beliefs don't really match up.

Also booooo do something new with the setting you fucking cowards. Not every piece of media from a franchise needs to contain all the most famous things from that franchise.

Yes. They hoard pre-war tech, they don't religious about it. Not even in the Bethesda games are they ever religious about it.

They did have a chaplain I think, in the first or second game, I can't remember which. But they were more like a regular military chaplain, not a specially religious leader.

Yea, okay, I guess it would be more accurate to say that religion never defined them as a faction in the lore

The BoS chaplain is, in the lore, supposed to be the go-between of the scribes and the soldiers, basically the armored scientist who has the scientific know-how to know if a site is actually worth further investigation or occupation. Because of this they are also generally in command of larger objective sites.

They are not 'religious leaders' except in the idea that they are the 'heralds of prewar science'.

Ah, there we go. I assumed that they were army chaplains based on the name. Though I guess the creators of this show did as well, and didn't bother to actually play the games to find out.

True, it was more like a belief system or ritualism. Maybe a consequence of mission parameters being upheld over generations.

This is just a bastardization of Bethesda Fallout, which itself is a bastardization of FO1/FO2.

There are so many post apocalyptic shows I don’t understand how people don’t get tired of it. I don’t even like elder scrolls but I think television would benefit from some more fantasy that isn’t game of ass and tits (even though elder scrolls is literally a game of ass and tits)

Worst case scenario, it's a horrible Fallout show but a good show in general, so Fallout fans have to sit through friends and family saying "I'm a huge Fallout fan, I love the TV show!" even though it only bears the slightest aesthetic similarity to the franchise's roots.

The silver lining is Oblivion with Guns fans will finally experience what Fallout fans have experienced for the past decade and a half.

      Last of Us was good
Halo is generally pretty well received, though I felt it was sorta mid (but enjoyable enough, I guess)

this just reminded me, amazon is still doing that Disco Elysium show I believe lt-dbyf-dubois

Big yikes. That is going to be horrendous. And not even in a funny way. I can't wait for Cuno to just be an innocent little guy who says a swear every now and then. And of course

        spoiler

        the deserter

Will be revealed as the twist villain or something and wanting to destroy everything because he's just an evil badguy commie.

I really don't understand how that could be even done in a tv show, everything about it is just so anti-modern pop culture, the characters are all deeply flawed and various flavours of awful (except Kim, Kim is great) and there's so much ugliness on display, very raw, human ugliness that big companies refuse to show in their media, I can't see it existing except as one of those things that youtubers make video essays about "how not to do an adaptation."

If removed from a profit motive, let me fucking at that one. I'd do each season as a different play through. Like groundhog day but each time is a full season and also it's Disco Elysium

I expected Halo to be worse tbh

The interactivity is what set Fallout apart from the Sci fi it aped from in the first place, if it's not a game it's just what if mad max was also the 50s

Last of us is great because now I don't need to play the game again to experience the story. But knowing the head creative for the game and show is a zionist really fucks me up from ever enjoying that stuff ever again though.
