I think I would be miserable if that happened
I don't like downtime, but that doesn't mean I need to work more. The type of downtime I hate is the hours after a long workday when I'm too tired to work on projects I enjoy, or even watch a movie. Oh also downtime between jobs I'm just too stressed to do the things I enjoy.
The overwhelming evil of this consent manufacturing process trying to convince people to be good little wage slaves is incredible.
Its all being concentrated on these endless wall-of-text feeds where everyone competes for attention with the most dogshit clickbait headlines.
We can bullshit like this 40 years ago. It was practically the claim to fame for people like Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, and Ross Perot. But the sell tended to come as a well-manicured and highly concentrated. Now its just this aerosol of particle thin bullshit being sprayed from every direction.
This one paragraph is the entire article. There’s no more content beyond this. I can only imagine how much leisure time a journalist who writes four sentence long articles has. They must truly be in turmoil with all that free time.
I can only assume LinkIn news articles have headlines like "Is your boss paying you too much?" or "Taking those vacation days could hurt your career"
You don’t understand that entrepreneurs don’t have time to “read” “articles” they’re busy hustling and making moves
If this bozo is sad he has too much downtime he's welcome to come to my house and do my laundry, scrub my floors and clean up in my kitchen while I'll go have a nap. That way we each get closer to what we consider optimal levels of downtime. Win-win.
Some people struggle with a sense of purpose, and the :jordan-eboy-peterson: types have some very convenient solutions that they want to impose on everyone. Just because I don't know what my purpose is doesn't mean you get to make one up for me. I know for a fact my purpose isn't going to be to ""serve my country"" or to be a good little worker ant 14 hours a day.
Why is the answer never "Try a creative hobby to express yourself, go outside and get in touch with nature and yourself in the quiet somewhere, get in touch with an organization and do good work" No, the answer is always "Go generate profit"
You have a health problem and your doctor doesn't care? The magic words are "This is impacting my job performance"

Seriously, I did some middling mixology for the inlaws and they were so "impressed" they said I should look into being an "influencer". I just want to make some tasty drinks for my friends not give myself a second job!
