The Falun Gong are still in China, just the parts of it that do taichi in the parks. The money and propaganda sectors got pushed out to Hong Kong and the USA. Which is why I see their posters everywhere and huge Shen Yun billboards.

Also it would probably be for the best if they weren't around. They're a weird homophobic cult that abuses kids and exploits elderly people for money.

    Hospitals advertising halal organ transplants
    :jesse-wtf:

I had to google this because I have never before in my life heard the phrase "halal organ transplants" and the only things that come up with that exact phrase are referencing this, which (content warning) quotes a lady who says that China is selling "halal" organs to Muslim countries. No other resources mention organs needing to be halal.

But wait, there's more! I ran across a paper claiming that China basically fabricates its organ transplant numbers using a formula. Let's go to the author bio:

Matthew P. Robertson is a China Studies Research Fellow with the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, a member of the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Human Rights Law Foundation, and a contributor to the nonprofit End Transplant Abuse in China. He was formerly editor of China news at The Epoch Times where in 2013 he won a Sigma Delta Chi award for investigating allegations of organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience in China.

What's The Epoch Times? I haven't heard of that one.

The Epoch Times is a far-right international multi-language newspaper and media company affiliated with the Falun Gong new religious movement.

    well okay then

Edit: I do not have the time to dig into Robertson's numbers to see what's going on there but here's a PubMed source with data.

Also, all organ donations are halal. To quote the Prophet (peace be upon him):

“When the human being dies, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”

Consentual organ donation is obviously a form of Sadaqah Jariyah, "ongoing charity", and therefore halal.

The impression I got was that "halal" in context meant that the donor didn't engage in any activities like smoking or drinking, but in a probable indication that the halal organ concept was made up whole cloth, none of the more reputable sources on Muslim perspectives on organ donation mentioned that being a requirement.

For specifics we have fatwas. Just check the one on organ donation by the Fiqh Council - as long as donation will not lead to death of or harm to the donor, it's permissible.

I just didn't want to cite a giant fatwa, and ongoing charity is a simple way to justify organ donations before going into specifics.

Estimated between 1-10 million Uyghurs in camps and they ain’t coming out.

Over estimation aside, they literally are coming out. That's the purpose of reeducation lol.

Sorry, but that clearly is insufficient to rehabilitating criminals. What if those overcrowded disease laden prisons where run by private corporations who make inmates use real money to pay for basic needs as a way to generate revenue? Oh and also they're forced into slave labor because the Constitution explicitly carves that out as a loophole.

Luckily for me, the one Chinese place in the tri-town area that doesn't have a Shen Yun poster in the window is also the only one that makes a decent Ma Po Tofu

I never made any comments about it, but the fact that I tip even when I pick it up myself says a lot

Covid restrictions are the holocaust and the holocaust is as bad as the uighur genocide in China, and China created the corona virus, so you see its all a big cycle of dipshits just repeating the same three points in response

There are only 13 million Uyghurs.

When I'm in a trolly mood I like to say that the CCP killed (all) 13 million of them. Just like Stalin murdered 80 million Russians.

So are there actually still camps going? I remember reading a western article that said they closed last year, but maybe it was just one of them.

Posts on that sub about enes freedom last year would be an excellent case study in how reddit is astroturfed.

The sensational stuff that had 1000+ upvotes was full of that bullshit, but even decently popular posts (couple hundred upvotes, 50+ comments) were all full of dunks on him for being a cia asset
