This is unexpected.
My favorite Bill Burr "joke" is when he's ripping on this crowd in Philly. He astutely pointed out that boxing legend Joe Frazier - one of the very greatest of all time - is from Philly.... buuuut he's black so he doesn't get a statue. White folks in Philly would rather give one to a fake white movie boxer.
except he'd defended Cuba and North Korea. so nah, not even close to a shithead boomer.
Damn, an even edgier leftist. Probably part of the Bernie wave, good for him
My working theory is that anyone sufficiently angry with society eventually works their way to socialism. This is the Prelude/Angry Young Man - Billy Joel law of political activation
They're not angry with society they're angry with parts of society they've been told to be angry at
This is where Adorno’s whole section about susceptibility to mysticism and bullshit makes sense for his F test
Adorno devised a personality test that checks if you’re predisposed towards fascist sentiments that he called the F scale. Believing woowoo mysticism bullshit is one of the measures that he argues makes you more likely to agree with fascism and I think Jones and his followers are a good example of why that makes sense
Info wars dorks are the people who think Fight Club is about them.
He is a huge conspiracy nut. Just hides it nowadays. Him and brace riffing would be great
Holy shit. I used to listen to his show a decent amount, but stopped in the last few years because I wanted to distance myself from the painful heel turn I assumed was inevitable. This is...:bloomer: :party-sicko: :sankara-salute:
Honestly shocked, he's never been overtly reactionary but never really thought he was such a comrade.
Good for him
Like when they finally listened to Rage Against the Machine lyrics.
There's plenty of reactionaries that think ratm and soad are bands for them
Same, I kind of figured him for more of an unprincipled contrarian than he turned out to be
He seems pretty keyed into a working class mindset and background. If you listen to his interviews he talks a lot about working warehouses and stuff. He talks about that sort of northeast working class and experience in a way that seems genuine. Maybe he isn't the most refined or on top of whatever the current language of stuff is, but he seems to truly understand what working folks actually experience. Burr seems to want working people to have some dignity and tends to take shots at elites (in the Marxist sense, i.e. rich assholes) . You can always tell with comics, I can't quite nail it down but a lot of them really understand what it is to work and how much it sucks, and not in that gross way rich comics will strawman .
He seems like a good example that not all socialists (or left thinking people in general) are a bunch of online dweebs.
It's not unexpected.
You have never listened to him probably just got triggered by his jokes he wrote specifically to trigger you.
When he talked about how bad cancel culture was I bet that triggered you Sjw becUse he's someone that YOU CANT CANCEL!!!!!!!!
This site has had plenty of i hate bill burr posts since it's inception. I'm sure if i wanted to scroll through your comments i could eventually find it. But i got other stuff to do
Yeah i was working. You really think I'm just sitting here looking for your comments in the last i hate bill burr post?
You will be creeped on at any party by a drunk white asshole, even after the revolution
This is genuinely surprising to me - I figured him as “apolitical”
Eh the dude's comedy is basically:
EDGY, CHUDDY STATEMENT ABOUT WOMEN/RACE/ETC!!
And here's the nuanced statement I actually mean. Wicked Smaht.
I saw a clip of him on Joe Rogan's podcast, and he basically called Rogan an idiot a bunch of times, so that was cool.
Bernie kinda did the same thing, which is cool. It's such a bummer the revolution and our glorious socialist communist future includes dragging those dumbasses to prosperity too.
Of all the crass comedians, he was always the one I liked best. I kinda clocked him as not a chud a while ago, not sure what it was.
He's got a good working class bent to his stand up, he just leans on edgy humor so a lot of it gets mixed in with chuddier comics.
