Hot take: guns without context are bad. In a functioning society people shouldn't have to own guns. Obviously under the context of capitalism, the working class should be armed, but in peak dreamland utopia people should not require the ability to kill other people. The only use for guns should be in self-defense against dangerous predators.

Hunting is one of the very few ethical ways to get meat. Population control is sometimes necessary now that humans have destabilized a lot of rural habitat.

For example, the hunting of Deer and Moose in Maine ensures that their populations to not grow so large that other herbivores are unable to survive. It can also help to prevent population crashes if the populations grow unsustainably.

Perhaps, with strident effort of predator reintroduction and a reduction of human footprint on the environment, hunting will be reduced until it is no longer needed. But right now it is helpful both for humans and for many hunted species. As someone who grew up poor in a rural community, hunting is the reason my family was able to keep from going hungry.

What defenses would exist in such a utopia against capitalist insurrection? Unless part of the utopia is that nobody could ever be convinced to agitate for capitalism

I think the summer protests and shootings have finally purged us of anti-gun elements. Hard to imagine anyone is left that is both into revolutionary leftism and is anti-gun.
