Make no mistake, liberal media is trying to normalize neo-nazism
If this was simply about Ukraine cheerleading they could have found some half broken conscript unit and sang their praises
No this filth is deliberate and is setting the groundwork for future liberal rightward shifts
From what I remember there were definitely non-Azov soldiers included in this prisoner swap. They could have picked one of them to profile.
Ukraine has very few Nazis, its a coincidence they show up in most photos
"The left is blowing things out of proportion, there aren't that many neo-Nazis in Ukraine" I say as I constantly spotlight Ukrainian neo-Nazis
EDIT: Holy shit, even Twitter libs are dunking on them lmao
"make sure to wear long sleeves to this photo op to hide your black sun tattoos"
it's rather cold in Turkey, don't you know?
(And before anyone asks, 20 C is considered warm weather to me.)
Like only sending 100k troops into a country and expecting the invasion to succeed.
They know these mfs literally crucified people right? ... right?
the nyt reporter probably does but their readership didn't care about ukraine until this year so, no, they don't know that.
if i had a twitter account this would be a cool time to reply to the NYT with their own coverage of azov being nazis and doing nazi shit
Russia traded them for like one rich fuck (connected to Putin). Even right wing Russian nationalists were cringing about this, and apparently the FSB had to be directly ordered by Putin to approve the exchange.
Sure, but it will still hurt when much of the Russian support for the war is due to groups like Azov. Letting specifically literal nazis off is gonna be unpopular beyond people not seeing the long-game. Might be worth it, but complaints make sense
I guess it's a gamble. On the one hand you're protecting your allies to show you haven't abandoned them, which is strategically important. On the other hand, Nazis.
From what I remember he was the leader of one of the banned Ukrainian political parties who had traditionally been friendly with Russia. I guess there's some strategic value in showing your allies that you'll go out of your way to protect them. Idk if it was worth turning Nazis over, but you have to admit that this article is a brilliant pro-Russian propaganda piece for the Russians to say "Look we told you Ukraine was filthy with Nazis!"
Once the Nazi commanders are back in uniform the Russians can say “look we’re denazifying them” but hopefully this time they well you know.
Imagine being a white supremacist and celebrating your release in a non-white country.
How do Nazis feel about Turks? I thought they were reasonably chill with Turks. One of those weird "You're an okay non-white" things like they have with Japanese people.
There was that esoteric nazi true anon talked about who when informed of Hitler's death while on assignment in Turkey, walked into the Bosporus and drowned himself
as for larger diplomacy
During World War II, Turkey maintained diplomatic relations with Germany until August 1944. The German–Turkish Treaty of Friendship was signed on 18 June 1941. In October 1941, the "Clodius Agreement" (named after the German negotiator, Dr. Carl August Clodius) was achieved, whereby Turkey would export up 45,000 tons of chromite ore to Germany in 1941–1942, and 90,000 tons of the mineral in each of 1943 and 1944, contingent on Germany's supplies of military equipment to Turkey. The Germans provided as many as 117 railway locomotives and 1,250 freight rail cars to transport the ore. In an attempt to prevent the supply of this strategic mineral to Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom went on a spree of what was termed "preclusive buying," buying out Turkish chromite even if they did not need so much of it. As a part of the "package deal," the Anglo-Americans bought Turkish dried fruit and tobacco as well.
Seems they had little problem with them, and in autum of 1941 the nazis proclaimed Turks to be "honorary Aryans" I kid you not. In an attempt to get Turkish soviet citizens on their side. Given the number of central asian communists with nazi kill counts in triple digits you can guess how that worked out
"Ukraine does not have a Nazi problem!"
proceeds to make like every second article about Ukraine feature a Nazi
Commanders of the celebrated Dirlewanger brigade held an emotional reunion with their families today
