I do kinda think it's a matter of "when" it'll happen as opposed to "if".

How long? Maybe not for a while, decade plus, but I think it'll happen eventually.

Then we can finally get the Howard The Duck X Batman movie we've always wanted.

It's probably inevitable, but I'm imagining Warner going under and being bought by Disney before it happens.

Anyway I read the Marvel vs DC comic as a kid and even back then I thought it sucked.

As someone who used to say "sooner or later, Games Workshop will let someone make a Warhammer 40k movie" :yea:

given how starved hollywood is for IPs to milk they very well might

have no clue about warhammer other than a couple of famous actors did stuff for a video game so i guess it could just suck as an IP

i see two possibilities: either it's a who framed roger rabbit situation (in which each warner bros character was assigned a disney counterpart, and they had to have equal numbers of lines and be on screen the same number of frames) and it acknowledges the fiction somehow (probably a re:creators scenario), or it's some minor special on disney plus where a b-list dc hero shows up through a portal to escape some interdimensional force and enlists iron fist or someone to help

DC survives practically by their cartoons alone imo. Without the cartoons and the occasional one hit wonder they'd be engaging in piracy in some far off land

DC and Marvel have crossed over in the past haven't they? Shouldn't be too hard to just nab the storyline of that and call it a day

I want a crossover where Spiderman somehow ends up in Gotham. He tries to make things better with his friendly neighborhood Spiderman bit, but then Batman shows up, decks him in the face and locks him in Arkham for being poor.

I doubt it. Disney has the MCU formula down pretty exact. I doubt they'd risk it, unless they had absolute control. WB probably wouldn't let its properties go unless their situation was dire, like Sony did with Spider-Man.

That's why I'm thinking down the line. Probably not gonna happen any time soon, but maybe after several years and circumstances have changed enough...

Perhaps, but it would have to be in the wake of a Black Swan, as far as the state of the entire film industry being upended. Disney/Marvel has been crushing Hollywood for the past 15 years, and with the exception of the move to streaming, the film industry hasn't changed much in that time, in the context of the previous century.

Disney buying WB is more likely than two companies of this size collaborating on this sort of thing.

Amalgam comics brought to life would be cool but that's longshot

One day...maybe. A lot has to happen to get there though. My take: I think Warner Bros./DC would 100% be DTF right now, but Disney/Marvel probably wouldn't take their call even if they made it.

The MCU is basically an American institution at this point. Meanwhile people are writing articles every other day wondering if the DCEU even still exists at this point or whether or not Whedon or Snyder's justice league is canon (I vote neither personally, but that's another story). Even putting aside that DC would obviously get a huge share of whatever profits the movie made, what is the incentive for Marvel to associate their brand with DC? Why the hell would Marvel make, in effect, what would be the biggest commercial and marketing stunt for their competition and potentially lose market share as a result? What do you think they're democrats or something, lol.

All that being said: the one potential exception to the above is Batman. Marvel might be DTF with Batman in some capacity.

Having only seen the Toby Mac Spider-Men, first two Chris Nolan Batmen, Iron Man 1 and the Hulk movie that isn't part of the Avengers thing: yes.
