Same. I'm Jewish and constantly begging other older American Jews to stop acting like Israel = Judaism and Judaism = Israel.

I think if I was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at a Denny's and I stood on a chair and in a loud voice I said "Israel does not equal Judaism and Judaism does not equal Israel. Thank you for your kind attention," - many elderly Jew's first thought would be that they'd like to hobble over to me, knock me down, and beat me to death with their walker or their cane.

I don't know if I would ever actually mess around with elderly Jews. I can also imagine one of them getting on their cell phones with it's huge buttons and using speed dial...

"Hello, Moishe. I am leaving you a message because I want to know if you can do me a very big favor. You know your friend the Russian ex-gangster? Please tell him that I want some lawn work done immediately. I understand I must pay a premium. But the grass must be cut right away. Love to you and your grandchildren. Oh - and see you at Chanukah!"
