If the US were behind this, the protests would be much more violent due to CIA arming and training and reporting in the western press would be entirely different. Seems they've decided that Lula is moderate enough and Bolso is too much of a loose cannon.
Not only that but they wouldn't have told the Brazilian military to stand down in regards to helping bolsonaro
Even less than that there would be non stop media coverage and personal interviews.
With conservatives stacking the legislature and the courts, Lula is on a tight leash and can be easily replaced by some business ghoul in another four years.
i don't necessarily rule out rogue agency backstabbing but i'd say that these protests are just the jakarta method on auto pilot.
