There was a thread a couple years back about a study in behavior differences between dog breeds. The behaviors that actually reliably differ by breed are:
Retrieves objects
Howls
Avoids getting wet
Points
Which notably doesn't include whatever people keep saying about pitbulls.
AFAIK it's a very recently implemented feature and as I understand it it's derived from a Japanese script style convention for annotating text with different characters (I think? I'm just inferring from context here).
In Japanese it's called furigana or yomigana, but it's also used for other ideographic/character based scripts where it's apparently called ルビ characters

I have a husky who hates water. Think it's a survival instinct where water means freezing to death. Also, double coat means they hold a ton of water

Also look up Stanford, horse breeding and eugenics. Horse and dog breeding are literally where the idea of human eugenics came from.
