I got the nardoragon base and re-colored it myself. Rigging was surprisingly easy as long as you have some background in following youtube tutorials closely. I had zero unity and blender experience as of last week, and I still managed to recolor and add clothes. It took a few tries, but I finally got it to work. There are scripts that make rigging clothes easy, and as long as you pick a common/popular avatar, there is tons of premade clothes and accessories.
I'm actually thinking about opening up my weekly drawfee watch party for others to join and watch along.

It's still being developed, afaik there hasn't been much more drama since a couple years ago when an alternative game exploring the same concept without the creepy shit like panty shots was going to be made and Yandere Dev got extremely upset about it - but then that project died after the creators were alleged to be grooming people in the game's discord, so it seems that this game concept is cursed to only attract the worst kinds of developers.

i think it's believable as the kind of mistake a total amateur would make. Like how the game's code was almost entirely made out of if-then statements, causing it to run really slowly because it would check every single condition every single frame.
