Found this on the neoliberal sub. Just openly whining about how there’s nobody he can talk to about his contempt for unions and worker solidarity.

      Also

      North-Korea-esque Margins!

Literally the only guy who hasn't gone on strike yet

Democracy is when the only viable options are so terrible that barely half of people would agree to them.

Right. But they're also the only ones left working, so... Surely that says something about the popularity of the vote?

This is a university union. Idk if they're on the Fed's radar. This isn't Haiti we're talking about.

But the impulse to attribute a landslide election to fraud when you admit you have literally nobody in your office to commiserate with says a big something about your ability to gauge a crowd.

It absolutely is. The government spies on student activists, especially BDS. If the union movement is tied to radical student groups (and it absolutely is) then the feds are 100% involved.

Sometimes I think "man, it's a real shame that unionism has been so tainted by connections with organized crime in pop culture."

Other times I read something like this and think "yeah, I'd pay a mobster to rough this lib up."

the trade unionists I've known have liked those comparisons as people have more faith in organised crime to achieve results than they do the law

Convince me that I am worthy of 55k! A right to a basic income? That's nonsense, what does the market say? I am very smart.

I wish in union negotiations that you could exclude scabs.

Yeah, the only thing provided is tuition. But I think their salary is (was? Idk if trump changed this) tax-free since it's primarily in the form of scholarships. Not a huge difference though, it's the equivalent of what like 36k otherwise?

Oh yeah, the nerd was whining about the job being part time, '50%'. They just structure it like that to keep us out of more benefits. We're actually prevented from working a second job explicitly.

The 'tuition' is kind of an accounting scam by the university anyway. Like I'm a PhD student, and I get charged tuition every quarter. I don't take classes at all. I do research, something that generates value for them directly, and they still charge it, so they can either drain money from the research groups or graciously 'reimburse' it if you work as a TA.

"I'm such a lanyard wearing bitch baby that I can't support the union on principle that they mildly stand against my wonky, pencil pushing fash political beliefs, and I also think I deserve less money for my work and don't care for what reasons anyone else might think they deserve it." Anatomy of a scab: spineless, self absorbed and without any solidarity. I hope you get run over by the campus bus.

Of course the 'endorsing antisemitism' is just some student group doing BDS

How stupid can this person be? They already figured out you are a lost cause. Since you won't stay home out of solidarity, they're going to convince you to stay home out of self interest. I guess some people are so thick they won't figure it out unless they get a brick through their windshield or a bat to the head.

I think they get your info when you take a student job, pretty efficient system

Edit: I would definitely vote for that candidate.. imagine that, a return to radical unions in 2022, love to see it

here's a good article on it, tl;dr the UAW rank and file are pissed about finding out that their strike fund was embezzled by the last two presidents and switched from a delegates system to a direct election system and all of the top candidates are talking about big changes so it's hard to know which one the OP was talking about.

the difference between liberals and reactionaries is liberals always would be on your side, except someone was mean to them once, so they have no choice but to say "fuck solidarity."
