I just can’t understand it. Like, Jayapal’s a politician I’m not gonna try to analyze that, but people in the replies are like “Me too!” and like, what? Why has his abject failure and the hastening decline of conditions converted you???

Food prices have risen like 11% this year, rents more than that, gas around 20%. Roe is dead. He completely normalized mass death from covid, and killed more people than Trump even with a vaccine. He’s given billions to Nazis on the other side of the planet and brought us closer to nuclear war than any time in the last decade (Do I mean China or Russia? Who knows!)

While I’m not sure which side I fall on, I could make a strong argument that Biden is worse than Trump. He’s certainly killed more grandmas.

    CW: SV

    spoiler

Also don’t forget, Joe Biden is a rapist.

They have nobody else. The democrats believe they have no other viable options and that it's too late for fresh faces. This is just expressing resignation to that fact

See, when I feel hopeless and resigned to failure, I simply feel despair and sadness like a normal person, I don’t decide, “Actually the person who got us into this mess is doing great!!! Everything is great actually! Nothing is bad!”

Do democratic voters just not know how to feel depressed???

Bad electoral strategy to say that even if they feel that, and democrats, politicians but also base, conceive of everything in terms of electoral strategy

Maybe it’s just because I have clinical depression, but I can’t fathom being happy about false claims and platitudes when I have the option of being sad and angry.

You need to give me a good reason to not be sad and angry most of the time

New President is always worse than Old President because material conditions continue to decline.

Whether Biden wins reelection or not, the next four years will be worse than the last.

    literally just a manufactured narrative.

like through and through, it's not just "I like Biden", it had to be "you know I used to be skeptical too, but damn he sure did show me"

and libs are going to repeat it ad nauseam because their brains are made of sour oatmeal

Now is a great time to remember that 'Progressives' in the 1920's, as opposed to communists and anarchists, advocated for euthanasia, chemical castration and eugenics practices, all claiming to be 'scientific', that are directly linked to Hitler's rationals for killing at least two million disabled people.

It is a record that they have yet to contend with, though they continue to use the brand.

between the choices of Biden, Harris, and Mayor Pete... I'd absolutely go Biden. At least he's hilarious.

As I see it: the reality we're living in is that there is no one else the Democrats have. Agree or disagree: if your ultimate position is that Biden is preferable to Desantis or Trump then it strikes me as simple cynical pragmatism to take this position now. :shrug-outta-hecks:

Lina Hidalgo, the Harris County Judge (senior executive for the county) who waded through tens of millions in attack ads to secure reelection by simply being good at her job.
