Trying to call emergency services there to help out a friend whose mom has dementia and lives with her sister there and is completely out of contact, and there's like no way to.

Called red cross and united way as well, they have zero info.

They're basically cut off at the moment, ain't good

For sure it is. It's a prime area to test things out at. Horrified for anyone that's on their list in the area right now, because they have free reign to get away with whatever at the moment

Keep in mind; There are a huge number of them, they're very factitious, they splinter and turn on each other all the time, they're all gripped by various racial and religious delusions. It's unlikely that there's any large steering group with more of a direct hand than LibsofTiktok. It's far more likely that smaller groups like individual friend groups, church groups, groups of cops, etc. would act independently and only vaguely steered by what media talking heads and social media are saying.

smaller groups like individual friend groups, church groups, groups of cops, etc.

This is what I'm bringing up about Moore County in particular. There's been organization there for awhile now. at least before 1/6. The Qanon group Emily Rainey is part of took over an abandoned school in the area and were doing meetings there, without the cops doing shit about it.

I cannot link you an article about this or anything, it's just information I've been told by people that live in the area.

Take me at my word for it, at least on the principle that I'm reporting real local murmurings I've been told over time. Like she and the cult she's with are known figures to people in the area is my point.

edit: I guess the question is… are they really in a position to go for it? Hard to tell.

They will feel like they are in position until the left starts taking significant steps to make them feel unsafe.

This is exactly the sort of shit that I worry about living where I do

Fucking Patriot Front was doing recruitment drives in the surrounding towns and there is a disturbing amount of Q-heads and Trumpos all over the place

I know for a fact that if something bad went down, I wouldn't be safe even though the pigs are less than a 500ft (152.4m) away

Probably especially since they're so close

I'm like 90% sure the sheriff there knows exactly what happened and is currently trying to cover shit up from the feds.

He immediately went to that qanon bitches house that was posted yesterday and they sat down for a "prayer". The press conference just had him sucking off the law enforcement and making vague statements, refusing to make any remarks about domestic terrorism.

        Oh without a doubt

Most pigs are Chuds and the ones that aren't just don't fucking care about anyone else

Too far up their own asses thinking they're protecting people by handing out tickets and shooting folks

The Sheriff and Rainey apparently know each other, there's a photo of them from back in 2020.

I'd be kind of surprised if the Sheriff is in on this because it's so disruptive to his little fiefdom. Like "Don't shit where you eat".

Plus if it is actually connected to the drag thing the are all kinds of less destructive ways the Sheriff could fuck that up, starting with a building code inspection.

Except cops are all dumb and they only reason a lot of them are not in prison for actual crimes is that the judicial system covers for their own.

Moore county is basically a hub for Q Anon and fascist shit in NC. There's a large group of white supremacists that run the place, like open and in public. Segregation is completely normal there as well, the towns are divided historically between white and black.

Pretty fucked feeling about what's happening

It's important to remember when you're trying to guess what happened that this is overwhelmingly the easiest way to cause a major disruption in the US. Literally all you need is a rifle and the location of a substation. It requires no planning, no expertise, no special equipment, no special knowledge. Anyone who has heard about the Metcalf incident knows everything you need to know about how to do this.

I've seen a lot of people speculating about US special forces and Rainey being psyops and all kinds of other shit, but it's important to remember that a couple of teenagers could have done this spontaneously and that's just as likely as some US spec ops gladio stuff.

Yeah I'll keep updating if things change locally, not there but know enough people immediately effected.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a see what would happen, what the response was like, and how long to fix sort of test run for a new form of domestic right wing (call it anything but) terrorism

Yes, she made social media posts and got interviewed by the police heavily suggesting she did it. She is also literally a former PSYOPS officer. :agony-soviet:

Again; She's an Evangelical in the throes of religious delusion. "I know why it happened" is very likely her saying that God did a magic trick for her, not implying that she did it herself or has any knowledge of who did.

Remember, if you want to understand what Christian Fascists mean you have to remember that their worldview is untethered from reality and involves a magic man in the sky who causes hurricanes if you have too much gay sex.

Fear I think is the tactic, show of force from the right to whatever they consider societal decay at the moment

I don't think it's her doing necessarily either, but she's involved with groups that are planning something

It's also possible that like so many people they don't fully understand how vulnerable the grid and US infrastructure is and didn't understand how long repairs might take.

Well the group (gesturing vaguely at the multitude of fascist right wing spinoff cults in the US) she's part of has been jerking off to a substation attack for 20+ years now lol. It's been an infowars fantasy for fucking ever, and it was lifted off the fantasies of those before him.

I think this was just praxis for them to be honest.

Legit you can find interviews for the early 90s on coast2coast talking about an electrical grid attack. It's been a known weakness for a long time, so it'd be surprising if whatever group she's part of isn't aware of the kind of damage that can be done.

But do I think Emily Rainey was involved or even knew it was going to happen exactly then? Nah not really. I think she's part of a group that has serious intentions and is vibing with the rest of 'em though.

edit: replace the word "group" with the word "sect" if you want this to sound more politically coherent.

I don't think Rainey saying "I know why" means much. She's an Evangelical. They're all delusional and think that god does magic tricks for them.

Not that I think it's related, but I just thought it's interesting that it seems to be one of the first counties where Southern Strategy had an effect:

Since the late 1960s and the civil rights movement and other cultural changes, Moore has become a supporter of Republican presidential candidates. It was one of the first counties east of the Blue Ridge to turn Republican, having supported the GOP nominee in all but one election from 1952 onward. The last Democrat to carry the county was Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964, and Jimmy Carter in 1980 was the last to reach forty percent of the vote. The Republican Party also dominates many local and state elections in majority-white precincts and districts.

Substations? I think most of them just have a fence.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_substation

And even if it had cameras - You can sit 100m or 300m or 500m and take your shots, you don't need to be anywhere close enough for cameras to actually see you.
