ebert reviews that ream things you also dont like :so-true: what a clever bastard!
ebert hating something you liked :wojak-nooo: you didn't get it you pompous patrician!
The reviewer is not supposed to always be right, but to give a perspective with some evidence and flare to let you know what style of movie and the general quality. If they disagree that's fine, provided they keep their voice and discuss more than just what they felt. :gigachad:
You make a strong counterpoint. I'm with AnarchaPrincess on this one.
Your ideas intrigue me and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter
whenever ebert likes something i like: wow we are both INFALLIBLE GENIUSES
That's why pairing him with Siskell worked so well. They were on a similar level when it came to cinema interpretation but the best back and forth would come from Siskell ragging on Ebert for dragging something that was clearly never meant to be more than a silly popcorn flick.
Ebert hating something I liked :shrug-outta-hecks: there are still a few memorable insights and one-liners in this review, because that is the mark of a good critic
i don't agree with everything he said, but he knew hackwork when he saw it
:rage-cry: YOU LEAVE SAMANTHA CARTER OUT OF THIS! In this house we love stargate!!!
Lol, I just sent this to my friend, Sam. Its hilarious how true it is TBH.
to get a flavor of what Roger Ebert finds to be great cinema, check out the flick he wrote with Russ Meyer and carte blanche from the studio called Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
Calibrating my scope as I zero in on every woman in an Aaron Sorkin production
