They don't "face consequences" even today, it's about ensuring that no one, not even the weakest, harmless "wokescold" stands up to them without facing consequences. I'm white and many family members are CHUDs, I hide my power level and act like a CHUD, but I usually get a big lecture about the dangers of wokeness when I claim that "SJWs" are totally irrelevant and harmless so "we're" wasting our time by fearing them.
