    Jesus.

At least TLC is exploiting people who are of age this time. But still.

Well, other than the fact that the show is probably scripted, how different is an 18 year old from a 16 year old when they're pressured to sleep with a significantly older woman on live television?

Dunno. I think too many of them looked shocked/upset for it to be just one of them with a son in the lineup.

On the one hand I wouldn't put it past them but on the other hand the video is edited and it could easily be that one of them is initially shocked, then the rest are upset because this isn't what any of them thought they were signing up for

True, that's a good point. It would definitely be easier to find one family that would want to be on this show than for all of them to be mother and son.

I'm guessing it's a variation on "Date My Mom" where instead of moms finding teens for their teenage kids to date, kids in their early 20's are getting their other early 20's friends to date their mom.

I think they injected the "Herpes Island" SNL bit at the end. Like, every dude has a lip wart.

There is nothing too absurd for our reality. I usually enjoy absurdity, but this feels bad, I have to say.

Yeah! Lol, and that dumb game show where you had to guess which of two homonyms the host meant when he said it.

I remember when TLC was public-funded and it stood for The Learning Channel. It mostly featured documentary content pertaining to nature, science, history, current events, medicine, technology, cooking, home improvement, and other information-based topics. It was often agreed to have been more focused, more technical, and of a more academic nature than the content that was being broadcast at the time on its eventual rival, The Discovery Channel.

Then austerity politics sold it to it's for-profit rival for pennies on the dollar in 1990, and now we have this.
