Some comments here on hexbear feel so....white liberal. Like the post that mentioned unlimited genocide on IDF soldiers and the comments turned into an argument about how we shouldn't wish for genocide too, even as a joke, because it's bad and we're better than that. Or saw a comment in a different thread saying we shouldn't call people with anti-society beliefs(like "every man for themselves" thinking and we shouldn't improve society views) animals because it could lead to dangerous outcomes.

We are living through an actual genocide of Palestinians. They have no army and are fighting for their lives TODAY against a highly funded army backed by the us. But y'all wanna argue that it's bad to say every IDF soldier should be killed?? Make it make sense, white people confuse me. This "turn the other cheek" bs will only protect aggressors. If we had killed more slave owners, we'd be in a better world. If we had killed more nazis, we'd be in a better world. Everyone else goes to re-education camps before they can be released into society.

I guess growing up with white washed or white pacifist characters being seen as good does that, all western propaganda and media has the part where the marginalized have to be pacifists or be kind to their oppressor or else they're worse, it's in cartoons movies games textbooks, stuff that gets carved into their head.

If god forbid, I ever have children, I will teach them not to turn the other cheek; that striving for vengeance is admissible within certain bounds, and to never spend more than what one has on chasing it

Not sure if it was the same thread, but there was the one where the OP was talking about how they thought some protest organizers were feds for saying they support Hamas and wishing for more Oct 7ths to happen to Israel. But I admittedly had a bit of a lib moment when I said that they're probably trying to more negative attention to the protests. I kind of missed the struggle session that developed in the thread, but I read through some of it and I did some introspection. Especially after I was walked outside and saw how "Free Palestine" and other fairly general Pro-Palestine posters and stickers had been torn off of poles and wall or had pro-Israel and stop antisemitism stickers put over them. There's people who already think that just believing that Palestinians deserve to exist and exist in their homeland with out the an oppressive apartheid state think that this is antisemitism, why should I care about optics at this point? So, yeah. I was wrong and I'm mad at myself for even thinking like that.

I think it's important to challenge your ideas and change your mind. It means you're always self reflecting and applying learned principles to real events. So it's good you got to the right conclusions. When Palestinians are actively being killed, it doesn't matter what we hypothetically say about the IDF.

It's good to see people of different races - Black, white, Latino/a, Asian, Indigenous, etc. fight for Palestinian freedom and liberation.

I told you all that this movement for Palestine wasn't just going to fizzle out.

I just knew it from the bottom of my heart.

Blocking roads, occupying campuses, mass protests, agitprop and education, and the "Uncommitted" movement were all well-done and good examples of praxis.

We need more, of course. We always need more. And people need to learn how to de-arrest people more, though I've seen it here and there.

When we have a multiracial coalitionary movement, we are unstoppable. Unity of action.

Middle aged zionist came by the palestine solidarity encampment in the middle of the night yelling slurs and trying to get in. But of course if you say anything back to them it's antisemitism.

Came off of an organizational full-country meet a couple days ago and... Boy if I'm not charged for the summer; but it's not that I'm thinkin about right about now. Nah what I'm thinking about is smth either Jawn Louis or Foreign Man in a Foreign Land was talm bout a couple weeks ago if not a bit longer; about how it's hella non-Black folk making youtube money off of Black drama, off of Black lives, off of Black death (I'm pretty sure that was a Trap Lore Ross callout, but I keep seeing it everywhere now), and it intersects with the fact that I still turn up at the celebrity gossip trough and the sources of which.

I've been trying to keep up at least a minor understanding of what the current chisme is just to have somewhere to level with other folk in community who might not be as up on the kind of radical shit we consume, digest, spread-- but here's my issue. My issue is that for instance, the Diddy drama going down-- if it's not an AI generated channel, it's one of those Black dudes who can only ever seem to refer to women as "fe-males", who WILL not check their comment sections for homo/transphobia and misogynoir, who has swapped "pause/no homo" for "no diddy" like the Black gay male community claims that mf. And beyond them, it's white folk tryna pass as Latino. Like... Is there any way to keep up with the chisme that isn't swimming in those troughs? Actual claimable community talkin this kind of stuff?

Honestly I'm not really sure. Or I am, but it feel like the youtubers that do aren't amplifies to the same level of the people you are describing. Just off the top of my head FD Signifier is one of the few youtubers that will do some of the chisme/celebrity talk while keeping things within a leftist perspective, especially on his second channel B sides. He's also doing a good job of trying to amplify other voices within the POC youtube community, but it's such an uphill battle.

I love Fiq, but Ion't think he's gonna touch this with a fifteen foot pole other than to stare down the camera and ruefully chuckle like 'how y'all ain't knew about this?' Like... I don't mean that as a john on him; lemme clarify, but I think he'd make that more a light work piece where he more or less presents it as "yeah, people have been talkin about sus shit regarding diddy since the early nineties but never this deep'. And because he's got some oldhead in him, I'd suspect there'll be a bit more focus on old rappers around Diddy, more than the current-day chisme.

    Unedited tired rambling:

I see the critiques of the new China policy on mandatory worker representation and participation but I don't see how it isn't a massive step forward for the country

It feels like a massive gift to union organizers, mandating the assembly of all employees in small companies and elected representatives for larger companies. Beginning the precedent of employee organizations being able to hire and fire managers and leadership, having full access to financial data and large decisions ahead of time etc

Especially for smaller companies like startups it seems like having an assembly with every employee, being able to see each other's wages, etc would be a significant kick start to union organizing and strike actions

The Party is already squeezing these companies at the top with party representatives, financial controls, liquidating the real estate sector to reinvest in industry (a move which by itself would give labor significant leverage), 90%+ home ownership. Even if the employee assembly policy can be criticized for incrementalism I don't know how that critique stands against the backdrop of everything else that is shifting.

The biggest concern on the English speaking left has been that Dengist China would simply continue doing what worked under Deng, and yet Evergrande wasn't bailed out and Chinese real estate speculation was left to run its natural course (crisis, collapse, nationalization?). The direction seems very divergent to me after China experienced its own 2008 crisis.

Growing state control of corporate boards, 90% home ownership rates, reinvestment from finance to industry, and now a massive kickstart to employee assemblies. Even just getting every non-manager into the same room/mailing list. Worker organization should be a natural consequence of these conditions, and they should be more organically viable for now than if they were quickly imposed from the top-down.
