Honestly, this lady is in the same category as people like Mr. Bonerelli. Just a dancing clown for imperialism and genocide. Quite literally profiting off an ongoing genocide by willfully lying and creating rage bait content. She's far more successful than him, imo, but it doesn't really matter in the end. Both pieces of shit, both will be tossed aside and totally forgotten as soon as possible f

Also if every argument you have against a group you don't like is "but what if they were [the Nazis, KKK, etc]????" then you're just admitting that the group you're complaining is distinct from those recognizable groups and distinct enough that you don't just call the group "neo-KKK" or some shit.

      But hey.

This is the same group that seems to think Cuban (indigenous aside) is a "race" and thus calling a guy with a Cuban-American mom a class-related (not even "ethnic" or "racial") "slur" is "racist." No, he's just a gusano. A little slimy worm. For more information go watch or read transcripts from Fidel Castro's speeches. I guess the Cuban guy was just racist against all those Cuban-Americans who fled to Miami and then decided to keep trying to overthrow the revolution.

There aren’t really any indigenous Cubans anymore. They died several hundred years ago. I think Dominica is one of the few countries left with an actual indigenous Carib population and it’s tiny

I just remember looking into the demographics a few years ago (guess why...) and seeing some small percentage of Cubans identity as Taino. I'm not well-read... at all... so, just wanted to leave room for that exception.

On a tangent side thought I just had, I do enjoy how many Americans get incredibly butthurt over calling Cubans white. Like calling Che or Fidel white pisses off a lot of people. I don't really want to poke this bear, but it's kinda funny how just saying they were white will make such a wide group of people pull out calipers and demand I explain how I arrived at their whiteness.

It’s probably because Americans don’t consider white Latin Americans to be white. If they have darker features they’re called “white passing” and if they have features like blonde hair and blue eyes they’re seen as not really being Latin American. It’s pretty annoying.

Why did John Brown not simply push the Whig party to the left? John Brown broke the law. He tried to steal someone's private property! How would you like it if someone came into your house and stole all your furniture, in the name of "freedom"? Also, he is a religious nut-job. I am SO GLAD we have BRAVE PATRIOTS like Robert E. Lee, to protect America from traitors. Anyone who votes for Lincoln in the next election is a fascist!

Back in the GG days I was following various anti-woke sources/creators (read kotakuinaction, watched JP, shoe, Chris ray gun, etc.). Since then I've obviously left that whole sphere (I mainly attribute this to innuendo studios tbh), but it's interesting to see that Brianna Wu has made just everyone dislike her. I hope she sees the light someday, because honestly it feels pretty weird to still be disliking one of the people GG attacked.

Edit: other notable figures in my radicalization are Hasan and second thought, and my wife and I have had a bit of a radicalizing feedback loop. Then I discovered lemmy during the API thing, found out about hexbear because of everyone talking about how scary it is, and choosing to check it out myself and finding it incredible based.

I'll be honest, I watched thunderf00t for like two videos making fun of solar panel roads because they're dumb, then I saw the anti feminist stuff and thought, hey this guy's a tool.

At this point I really dont think Brianna Wu has it in her to see any kind of light, shes just genuinely a craven social climber.

She was cozying up to transvestigators and posting some deranged shit accusing Brittney Griner of having a voice in the hertz range of literal subwoofers.

Also claiming that she was spitballing hertz values from listening to one audio clip because she has "10 years of piano practice" which means that her brain automatically translates pitch to hertz.

If anything I would hope for her to just transition into posting more shit like this, she might end up at pre-president Trump tier posting if she keeps this up.

“Freedom of the press” is another of the principal slogans of “pure democracy”. And here, too, the workers know — and socialists everywhere have admitted it millions of times — that this freedom is a deception while the best printing presses and the biggest stocks of paper are appropriated by the capitalists and while capitalist rule over the press remains, a rule that is manifested throughout the world all the more strikingly, sharply, and cynically, the more democracy and the republican system are developed, as in America for example.

The first thing to do to win real equality and genuine democracy for the working people, for the workers and peasants, is to deprive capital of the possibility of hiring writers, buying up publishing houses, and hiring newspapers. And to do that the capitalists and exploiters have to be overthrown and their resistance suppressed.

The capitalists have always used the term ‘freedom’ to mean freedom for the rich to get richer and for the workers to starve to death.

In capitalist usage, freedom of the press means freedom of the rich to bribe the press, freedom to use their wealth to shape and fabricate so-called public opinion.

In this respect, too, the defenders of ‘pure democracy’ prove to be defenders of an utterly foul and venal system that gives the rich control over the mass media. They prove to be deceivers of the people who, with the aid of plausible, fine-sounding, but thoroughly false phrases, divert them from the concrete historical task of liberating the press from capitalist enslavement.

The only people who believe in absolute, unrestricted free speech are weird ancap types. The average run of the mill lib doesn't believe in it, none of the countries they stan have unrestricted free speech laws, and the facists obviously don't believe in it either.
