Oh man this reminds me so much of what I see when I lay down and close my eyes after eating a whole lotta shrooms.

Also the shrooms did wonders for my depression too.

Booze might numb the pain but the shrooms reset your brain it feels like.

I feel ya. I've had a lot of bouts where I drink way too much and it always seems pointless in the end. With shrooms I come out of the experience feeling like I grew somewhat.

Another vote for tea. Psilocybin doesn't degrade until much higher temps than boiling water so you don't even have to worry about messing it up really. A few black tea bags after the water comes off the stove and you strain it through a coffee filter. Honey to sweeten and you'll be surprised what a totally normal tasting cup of tea you have.

Much less chitin (indigestible cell wall material of mushrooms) for your stomach to deal with and whatever fine sediment makes it through straining will basically be cooked from the boiling water and be much more easily digestible.

Tip: you can put the shroom powder in a coffee filter and cinch it up into a lil shroom sack with string, then use it as a giant teabag to avoid having to strain scalding water. Just make sure there's plenty of room for the water to swirl around/do multiple filters if need be.

Edit: adding lemon juice while the powder is simmering improves the extraction. I haven't added ginger before but i might try that next time because it's tasty and can help with nausea.

I haven't read about it in quite a while but I think maybe it's that the psilocin is already destroyed by dehydrating the mushrooms, but cubensis (i've assumed that's what you have) are mostly psilocybin in the first place so it's not a big deal, whereas other species like Panaeolus cyanescens have much more psilocin and potency drops big time when they're dried. I sauteed some fresh cubes once and they were really wonderfully flavorful and i tripped as hard as expected for the dose.

I eat a small chunk of ginger before tripping on anything and it always eliminates the nausea and weird come up

You can do the same with tea which helps even more for nausea. I like grating it into the tea and steeping it with the shrooms

Combining weed with psychedelics can easily make the trip far too paranoid and cause a bad trip though

Especially for somebody whose never gone past 1 grams and never had a real strong trip

I've never had nausea with up to 3.5 grams but I usually make tea and that might be why.

Bring 12 oz of water to a simmer in a small stock pot.

Add pulverized dried shrooms (they should be mostly powder, some chunks are fine). Turn the burner down to the lowest it can go, just enough to keep it hot but no visible boiling. Steep 10 minutes.

Add 1 tsp of lemon juice and stir. Add a tea packet (I prefer peppermint tea) and steep another 10 minutes.

Filter the whole thing through a mesh coffee filter. Add a tbsp or two of sugar and drink warm.

Disclaimer: the lemon juice greatly reduces the come up time and you might want to leave that out for your first go around. Usually with the lemon I start to feel the effects within 10 minutes and I'm well on my way to space within 45 minutes.

This does not taste great, but IMO it's much easier than eating them. It doesn't like taste mushroom, more like dirty peppermint tea. Best method is to wait until it's cool enough to chug, and have another drink or a snack that you can cleanse your palate with between chugs.

You gotta try adding lots of grated ginger and tons of honey to your tea! I don't even use tea leaves or bags, just plain water and it tastes amazing for me

I just use mesh because paper will probably clog up very quickly. Shouldn't be much of a difference either way, you theoretically will lose some more of the good stuff on the paper filters but it wouldn't be a noticeable amount.

I haven't experimented with anything less than 12 oz but it should be doable, you will need to be more careful about not accidentally boiling off too much water with a smaller volume. It's hard to gauge any kind of variables with shrooms because every trip is so different and it takes 2 weeks for the tolerance to clear completely, so good luck remembering exactly how you felt by then.

Find something physical to do while coming up. Your gonna feel gross no matter what but a physical distraction like a walk or a yo-yo makes it less of a big deal.

A friend had a similar problem, they just didn't get over it and I think some people don't have a stomach for it. Worth a try to figure out if other psychedelics which are similar to psilocibin have the same effect. LSD could be worth a try, heard in some states it is legal.
