    1. Chili Neighbor
    2. Guy Who Dated Many Girls in NY
    3. Bean Dad

well to be fair, happily identifying as a something doesn't necessarily stop it being a slur. i happily identify as a dyke, but that doesn't make it a okay thing to call other lesbians. femboys not a slur because it doesn't have the history, like, thats just a transphobic/homophobic insult (when its used badly)

Look, the nuances of gender identity might not be my wheelhouse so let me know if I've got this wrong, but isn't a femboy just a self identified male who presents more feminine? There is probably more depth to it than that simple description, but as far as I understand that label isn't inherently a slur if it's used correctly.

Yeah the problem is that fascists also call all the trans women that they like femboys in denial of their identity. On top of this there is a very significant grooming problem where far right communities essentially groom people that are exploring their femme identities into being fascist femboys via giving them attention, sexual encouragement and so on. These kids are pretty vulnerable and a lot of them eventually go on to be trans when they break out of it but it fucks them up a bit. This association, particularly among young teens denying trans identities or in the denial stages of realising that they're trans is where this "femboy is a slur" stuff is coming from among these teens.

So it's not strictly untrue, some of these teens definitely have experienced femboy in use as a slur to deny their trans identity and intentionally misgender them, but it is obviously not always a slur. It has grown as "trap" became less and less acceptable due to widespread acceptance that it is a slur developing. I do think it's possible that "femboy" is eventually rejected as a term but it would require effeminate gay boys to find an alternative. And then that term would just end up used to describe trans people too, and it would go round and round in circles.

Think of it the same way "tomboy" is used to harm transmen. There is a problem occurring but it still needs to be fully deconstructed.

Yeah, maybe one day I’ll turn out to be a trans women or enby or something but right now I’m more than happy to exist under the term femboy

Yeah don't get me wrong I'm not saying that's how it is for all of these kids, or for you personally, however you turn out is completely fine. It's just messy because the far right capitalise on it and basically all of them are super vulnerable teens who are exploring gender and sexuality and getting ANY attention that affirms them as attractive is all that's necessary to start getting them to dance to whatever tune they want. It's real actual grooming and it's fucking gross.

So wait, they would rather admit to being gay than recognize trans identity? I honestly can't with zoomers.

That's an unsubtle but somewhat accurate assessment yes. I don't really think it started with zoomers though, I think it started in millennials to an extent and simply expanded as various conditions were met.

There are two very easy fixes to this:

    a) children should not be allowed on the internet. it should be a right of passage at the begging of adulthood -- but a shitty one, like paying bills.

    b) the networked devices in our pockets should not have multimedia functionality. Give it an E-reader screen with a text-only interface.

Would correctly be CAPTTHA, or Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Teenagers and Humans Apart

(Or, if you subscribe to the controversial hypothesis that teenagers are, in fact, human, CAPTTAA, for Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Teenagers and Adults Apart)
