It's disconcerting how easily overwhelmed metropolitan hospitals get from mass casualty events. To be fair, 10+ dead and 10+ injured is a massive toll at once, but the hospital network of a city like LA should accommodate that.
Over half of all hospital beds have been closed since the 1970's.
Efficiency is the name of the game now. Money over anything.
