I’m listening to the Kendrick Lamar song “King’s Dead” and the second part of the song he takes the persona of Killmonger and the lyrics sound callous and indifferent. But then I checked Genius and it says Killmonger’s father was killed for trying to use the country’s resources to liberate exploited black people, and now Killmonger is killed for having the same aspirations.

I know marvel is CIA shit but what the fuck is this trash ass imperialist movie

Is it literally “The guy with the scary name was actually correct, but he killed a baby for no reason and now it’s okay to sell out our people to the western interests”

Black Panther is a movie where a man achieves political power through legal means, and because he uses it to oppose US imperialism he’s overthrown and the old monarch is put back in place and then immediately opens up the country to foreign capital

Starting a few years ago I started to ignore all superhero movies. Before I read your comment I knew hardly anything about Black Panther. Over time I've seen "CIA op" comments about it at Hexbear but - man, my imagination failed me. I had no idea it was that bad.

At the end of the movie, the protagonist decides "yeah this guy had a point we should be doing more to help" and his alternative solution is basically charter schools

Again this is not exaggerating at all, literally what happens. I'm 80% sure there's a lottery for it

The CIA stuff isn't an exaggeration btw. Martin Freeman literally plays a CIA agent who pilots a plane to shoot down other planes that were delivering arms to the oppressed peoples of the world

For a lot these stories you can even say that the "villain that is technically correct" doesn't even have that heinous turn. The fact that he wants to change something is what makes him the villain.

Often you see the "superheroes" fighting back against this, and it becomes a metaphor for a thermidorian reaction. A violent refusal to accept fundamental changes that will improve things at the cost of a little upfront evil. Liberals always take issue with the "means" when what they really don't like is the "end", and that is why they will use the same means to stop change.

I love how the nonbenders are suddenly okay and stop protesting because amon is revealed as a bender.

Like, okay? He’s a bender sure but he’s not oppressing us like the rest of you and in fact is helping fight the oppression. I’ll keep the guy whose body is a weapon and can disable peoples magic on my side thank you very much.

And they did it again with anarchists in one of their mini series

Okay, but here's the thing you're ignoring; In 10-20 years, T'Challa is going to become eligible for student loan forgiveness for opening and maintaining a black owned business in an economically disadvantaged area. So you see, the system works. :neera:

Correct. Not only terrible imperialist propaganda complete with CIA heroism, but such a waste of what could’ve been an extremely cool afro-futurism themed piece of media (which is so goddamn rare cmon).

lmao yup. Killmonger wanted to use Wakanda's tech to destroy white supremacy, and he got CIA'd for his trouble.

Been thinking about shit like this

How long can they make movies where the villain is named Slartin Sluther Sling Slunior and he's exactly like Martin Luther King Junior in every way, except when a subordinate says "a-are you sure" he gets mad and pulls out a gun and shoots him.

It's the heroes' job to stop Dr. Sling from liberating normal black people from normal white supremacy, and it's okay because, come on, you saw him shoot that guy who slightly annoyed him. He's bad!!

Oh, and the other thing they seem to do is

"Us liberal ghouls and the supervillain came to the same conclusion - slightly lowering the amount of poverty is obviously physically impossible, but this guy is so crazy he's going to 'reduce poverty' by just blowing up the entire Earth"

Legally elected by their stupid, but agreed-upon traditions, but in comes the CIA and the son of the former monarch. It's pretty transparent.
