I’m listening to the Kendrick Lamar song “King’s Dead” and the second part of the song he takes the persona of Killmonger and the lyrics sound callous and indifferent. But then I checked Genius and it says Killmonger’s father was killed for trying to use the country’s resources to liberate exploited black people, and now Killmonger is killed for having the same aspirations.

Is it literally “The guy with the scary name was actually correct, but he killed a baby for no reason and now it’s okay to sell out our people to the western interests”

    Literally the first scene of that show is a man in a park speaking to a crowd saying “We’d like to stop being oppressed by all these magic users” and our main character, the ultimate magic user, breaks his shit and attacks him with her magic saying “What do you mean oppression, magic’s awesome!”

    And we’re supposed to think she’s good and correct.
