Christ, Instagram has the worst interface. Volume sliders? Progress bars? Who needs those?
This is going to become more and more common as the years go by. The last HP movie came out in 2011 (I think). The oldest zoomer was 13-14 then. These oldies are the last ones to form an attachment to HP.
Mid Zoomers barely remember it and don’t have strong memories, unless they have older siblings who introduced them to HP at an early age.
And by the time Late Zoomers and Early Alphas grow up, HP would thoroughly be a thing of the past.
There might be a tendency of millennials parents trying to introduce HP to their alpha kids but we’ll see how successful that is. It’ll depend on how well Warner Bros continues to remake HP for younger generations.
Fantastic Beasts were a flop and the new game seems to be aimed at the OG millennials rather than a new audience. Let’s see what other “Wizarding World” properties come up in this decade. That’ll decide the fate of HP imo.
I'm praying for the day liking Harry Potter automatically outs you as an out-of-touch millennial who likes "old people shit."
Harry Potter will either end up like Narnia or the Oz books. One being a beloved classic that's spawned several adaptations and is usually one of the first books listed that someone read growing up.
The other was beloved for its time and written by man way more genocidal than JK rowling. Its most popular book has had several adaptations with only one of them becoming a worldwide classic that's still popular almost 100 years later. Unfortunately, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz is the only book out of the entire Oz series that's remotely popular.
Wizarding World could have numerous adaptations made of it and become a cult-classic in some cirlcles the way Narnia is in Christian circles. Or the film series is the only remaining legacy it has that manages to stay a classic for many generations.
tell me more about the author of Oz being genocidal, the more authors who are secretly monsters the less books I'm obligated to read
Frank Baum used to write editorials about Native Americans and how they were savages that needed to be removed for the greatness of America.
They have to buy DVDs and DVD players for that, first. Streaming is a much easier option. And yeah, that’s what it depends on. If SW can survive the Prequels, HP can probably survive Fantastic Beasts and JK Terfling.
Unfortunately, Disney, unlike WB, is competent.
Star Wars will continue being popular and finding new audiences. It may never become the colossal juggernaut it once was, but you’ll always have more Slop Wars.
And tbf, Andor was great.
the sequel trilogy was the product of Disney being cowards who can't stand the idea of a movie challenging its audience.
let's remake this trilogy 20 years later.
great, it sucks.
let's remake this trilogy 20 years later.
please stop.

ok new star wars trilogy, except this time the death star is a video game and Han Solo is the lead programmer who doesn't realize Princess Lea is his soulmate from the previous Star Wars remakes. Jabba the Hut is the project manager who is brought back to life and controlled by the force to make sure Han Solo doesn't find out he's actually already paid off the millennium falcon but he escapes anyways to give Lea a run for her kegels.
I'm in that older zoomer group and I was definitely the only one in my family to actually be into the books and the movies. My younger brother was into the films for a little bit around when Prisoner of Azkeban came out but I don't think he stayed interested.
The world and land difference is a Disney thing , not Universal, so I am choosing to believe this was carefully selected wording to piss off Harry Potter fans further
